Customer Reviews

Helped me connect the cable to my new cable box. Could not thread the cable into my new cable box by hand, the cable would pop right out, every time. I was worried I would need to replace the cable which would mean antics with my landlord and getting access to the basement, calling the cable company to get someone onsite at the same time. Kinda bought this as one last chance. I put this on and stuck with it--does take a long time to screw in--now my cable connection is great, get all the channels I signed up for. Before some of them would just not load, and the frame rate was boxy. 5F Connector Installation & Removal Tool This is what I need for my camper. The outside cable connection is in a recessed piece of plastic for water protection, and it can be hard to even get the nut started with my fingers, and takes an open end wrench to tighten the connection. This tool should make the job much easier quicker now. 5comfortable and it works as expected This is a smidge less handy than the Jonard SST-176, but only because it doesn't have a ring to hang it by. One advantage it does have though is its larger grip ring that provides a more comfortable twisting motion. That said, by extending the hanger on the Jonard you can get turning leverage with that, it's just not as comfortable. I keep this Holland Electronics one in the cabinet with my main audio/video components where it's handy, rather than in the bottom of some garage toolbox or kitchen junk drawer where I likely will forget its location. 4If you are an RVer, this is a must have! This is a great tool for the home if your are a home theater guy like I am, but is is a MUST HAVE if you are an RVer with a portable satellite dish like my wife and I have. This tool makes dealing with the watertight female COAX connectors on our camper that are absolutely frustrating to thread a male connector onto or off of because of the recess, especially when your hands are wet or cold! I keep one right with the dish and cable in the camper. 5Does everything claimed! GREAT tool! I've got a LOT of coax distribution in my new house and this will help immensely. cuz I'm in my 70's and never had great digital dexterity to begin with. I always despised 'F's but there was no good solution but slide-on ends or adapters and they arent reliable connectionsYes, there are a few connectors that it wont slip over. such as those with molded-on boots. But I've found no 'bare' F connectors it wont work on, so far, out of about 5 different makes, including those by the Cable provider..For the exceptions I bought the Jonard speed wrench. It works but requires practice to use efficiently 5Easiest way to connect F-type Coax This tool is great! It gives a full-hand grip on the process of connecting an F-type coax cable and keeps the connector and cable in a simple, well-aligned position. Beats using a single finger and thumb by miles! Only thing it won't work on is 90-degree connectors. 5GREAT TOOL FOR COAXIAL CABLE CONNECTORS This is a GREAT tool for removing and installing standard TV coaxial cable connectors. They work on the older crimp style and on the newer compression style connectors most companies are using now. I have several different style tools and this one works the best. When we travel, we wanted to use our portable DVD players in hotel rooms. Their cable connectors had a protective sleeve over the connectors and these tools can reach in to change the connectors. But mostly now, I use it whenever I have a loss of internet service with TWC and they ALWAYS have me reboot the cable modem, connect and disconnect the coaxial cable and this makes that SO MUCH easier. 5Makes connection and removal of cramped cables easy We have a 5-outlet distribution box in the basement. Because of poor quality connections I re-terminated a number of them a few times, finally used better connectors so it's permanently solved. But.. each time it was a hassle removing and replacing the connectors on the cramped splitter.. this makes it very easy to do. It's now a part of my cable-TV kit. 5Indespensible As a pro antenna installer, I absolutely love this tool! For most of my connections, I use PPC Aquatight connectors, which have both a knurled ring and wrench flats. The tool butts right up against the knurled ring portion. So much easier than using an open-end wrench.Obviously it doesn't work with RG-11 connectors or really tight spaces, but that's to be expected.Indestructible build quality too! 5Specialized "Nut Driver" for RG6 & F59 Coax and Finicky Very useful for tightening RG6 & old F59 coax connectors. Think of it as a specialized nut driver. Good quality plastic "handle" and brush metal collar which wraps around the coax cable connector.Overall, works well, but note the following:(1) The diameter of the plastic handle may get in the way if there are other coax cables side-by-side.(2) Depending on your access, you will likely have to start tightening using your fingers, and once it is threading properly, finish it with this tool, and it will give it a nice tight connection.(3) You have to be careful not to over-tighten and I think you may put stress on the female connector and can disconnect it from the main board.(4) It is best for uninstalling coax (or finishing an installation), but learn from my mistake - - it may seem silly, but you can cause damage by over-tightening - - I had a flatscreen mounted on a wall, and needed to dismount it, but also wanted to disconnect the set top box from the TV. Standing in front of the TV, having awkward access to the connector on the back, and using a hex wrench, I turned in the wrong direction and was tightening it rather than loosing, and ended up electrically disconnecting the female connector from the circuit board - a $225 repair bill and a 10-day wait (the TV was worth $1,200 back then). (I've since use pressure connector/adapters if the connection has difficult access). You are dealing with sensitive electronic equipment so don't misuse the tool. 4
