    I like this design better as it has surge protection and ...Bought this to replace an older Power Cube product that I used for my TV entertainment center. I like this design better as it has surge protection and the fact that it has a more secure mounting to the wall outlet (screws into the wall plate)t. My old Power Cube did not have surge protection and was prone to become loose from the wall outlet and sometimes disconnecting my cable box which required the system to reboot.The Cube did have an advantage in that you could plug into it five devices. With the ECHOGEAR you can only plug in four but it does have two USB inputs which are fine for charging other devices. I love these for cord management and surge protection!!! The USB ports are great for charging cell phones, laptops, etc. NO MORE BULKY ugly traditional surge protectors laying on the floor. I was so impressed I ordered 2 more. The pivoting AC outlets are a life saver for hard to reach places. I have a outlet in the bathroom where I was constantly unplugging something so I could plug in something else. These outlets solved the problem, and eliminates the need for additional electrical outlets to be installed. I consider these to be a must have for any home or office. Work great using smart home plugs that usually take up 2 sockets, no more extensions cords or trying to figure out where to plug everything. I appreciate that these filter dirty power and the peace of mind I have for electronics and smart tvs.5The added attraction of a surge protector as well as moving the electrically sockets to the side is awesome especially for some bigger adapters that are too big ...Instead of my 2 power sockets I now have four and 2 USBs. (Disappointed)Six Months of service, feeding an adjustable bed is just not enough service. I came home to find out three breakers tripped. I started disconnecting stuff and trying to reset the breakers- lo and behold- it was the bed connected to my fancy surge protector. Connect and disconnect it- it only trips when this is installed. I removed it and it does smell burnt. After reading the reviews and finding out that the manufacturers position is "If its burnt, be happy it worked and buy another one" is just a lame excuse. My bed was only connected, at rest, and no one was home. (i guess I'll go back to buy the kind of protector that has a reset button on it - and cost 3X as much as this one.) This protector is Too Fancy, but only six months of service just don't cut it- I have other ones serving my Electronics (TV, Home theater, Computers and a remote drive- Still going strong after 8 years and only have tripped twice during storms/lightning)2USB's are Dead On ArrivalUSB ports never worked. I had to box it back up and do a return and replacement. And yes, I have tried many USB cables with this. They are both DOA.Update, I received a replacement. The USB ports worked for a while (around 3-4 months), but now they are both dead too.I like the design of the unit for the electrical plugs, but the USB ports are terrible / low quality. Do not buy this unit if you are more interested in the USB ports as they are junk.1The screw that you attach it with needs to be ...The screw that you attach it with needs to be longer. It's not very secure. The outlets are sideways, which I should have noticed before I ordered. This does affect what fits and how many. The outlets are also close together and difficult to rearrange because of the sideways mount. It has worked for surge protection and USB charging so far.3Very good product, but use only with outlets with center screw.Just be aware that the outlet requires a center screw to secure this adapter and they provide the longer screw for that purpose. So, it's no recommended you use it with the decora-style outlets. I am but trying to remember to use 2 hands every time I use it so it's not pulled from the outlet. Maybe I missed this requirement in the details or other reviews. It doesn't detract from the quality or value of the product,4Worth every penny.I absolutely love this gadget. I got it in and immediately installed it in my kitchen. Extremely easy to install (you just need to unscrew the screw on your current cover plate, plug in the surge protector, then screw in the screw they provide.It's so much nicer having USBs and extra plugs; I didn't realize how much they'd make a difference, especially in the kitchen.
