Adhesive needs improvement Didn't last more than a week, kept falling off. Disappointing cause ones I've had in the past stayed on forever. 1Did not work for us We bought these locks for our slider door because my 4yo escape artist child kept walking outside whenever he wanted. My husband applied it to the door as instructed, but the very first time someone tried to open the door with it in place (which was a few days after it was installed, not right away), it snapped right off. There was no yanking, tugging or extra force involved, just using a normal amount of force to try to open the door. The adhesive did not seem to bond with the glass as easily as the video implied. 1works great! we have had ours up for about five months and it has been amazing. Our two-year-old learned how to open the sliding glass door and wants to wander away from the house so we bought these which comes with a set of two and we're still in the first one, the glue has stayed intact and it has done the job. Best baby safety latch that we have used so far. 5Great for toddler-proofing! I have these on all the windows in my house, as well as on the sliding glass patio door. These. Are. AWESOME. My toddler likes to sneak outside when I'm not looking, so these give me some peace of mind knowing he can't get outside and take off down the street when I'm in the bathroom, lol.Super easy to apply to surfaces, and the adhesive is REALLY sticky. Every one I have used takes a little muscle to pull off, so at least I know they aren't going to pop off easy. And it has a little spring lock to lock it in place. The spring lock can pop out if you pull on it wrong when opening, but luckily these are inexpensive to purchase, easy to replace. I would recommend these to anyone who is baby/toddler-proofing their homes. :) 5Easily damaged They work great and easy to install. The glue is strong and hold up well. The only problem that I have experienced is the when I have guest a my home they break them easily by opening the lock without pulling the lock pin out. I like the project but, they break easily if operated incorrectly. I'm on my third set now. I like them enough to continue to reinstall new ones x3. 4Caused huge expense and possible safety due to faulty product. Change my initial review. After about a week of use, the plastic snapped in half and a piece fell into the door frame, leaving me unable to shut my sliding glass door. I went2 nights with my door open, sleeping on the couch to watch for people trying to get in. Today a man came to the tune of 157.00 to totally remove the sliding glass door to retrieve the wedged piece of plastic. HORRIBLE experience!!! 1Nice in theory, but it just doesn't hold well on mirrored closet doors I waited the designated amount of time, in temperatures that weren't extreme, and one time we accidentally forgot that it was on and open opening slowly, it just popped off. This matched the speed that my then-15 month girls had slid the doors (I haven't let them intentionally try to open it with this lock on). It just popped off like a lego piece, which in retrospect isn't too surprising given the design (the strength of a clear adhesive vs a toddler- who do you think will win?). So for now, we just avoid having items we worry about in the bottom and try to discourage the kids, but we might switch to a physical bar if that doesn't work out (our closets are tall and wide and roll on the bottom, so many of the other options I've read about aren't viable). But thankfully (right now, I'm sure this will change...), they are much more interested in looking at and bumping against the doors than actually opening them. 2My 3 year old broke it the first time he tried opening the door. My 3 year old is a bit of a houdini. We were hoping that this would help keep our sliding door a little more secure. We followed the directions and waited the suggested 48 hours. The first time my son tried to open the door the latch completely fell off the glass. It didn't seem like he even pulled the door very hard. 1Fell Off I initially only used one of the locks on my sliding door, but my husband opened the door without putting the lock down and it popped off, first day it was on. Then we put two locks on, one below the other, and same thing, they both popped off a day later when a visitor opened the door without putting them down. We were hoping these would keep our 4 year old escape artist inside as we have a pool and she can climb the safety fence around it. We'll have to find another solution. I gave two stars instead of one because we're in the desert and it has been very hot, but it still should have worked. 2Boo These didn t work. Our toddler was strong enough to push the door open. Worst part was that they stayed sprung so then they were stuck between the sliding glass doors and we struggled to get them out. This all literally happened within an hour of installing them. It took two people and a long utensil to try and pop them so they would lay flat and after all was said and done now our door is hard to close and we r still trying figuring out why...but the bonus is now it is harder for the child to open the door as well. Lol. But basically our door is broken!! Such a huge pain and waste of money! Not recommend unless you want your door to be really hard to open and close... Boom, childproofed! 1
