Good quality, works great!The Digigear CF to SD card adapter makes a great addition to my digital SLR camera equipment. My camera takes Type 2 Compact Flash cards (the thicker kind).Only problem is that CF cards are quite expensive compared to SD cards. This adapter allowed me to make a 256 GB card for my camera at about half the cost.I tested this adapter with a higher end 256 GB SD card against a higher end 64 GB CF card. The adapter plus SD card clocks in at about 80% of the speed of the CF card when writing data. Reads of data are virtually identical in speed.Since my camera does not shoot video, I cannot test if the SD card plus CF adapter is fast enough for video, but I can say that the CF adapter keeps up with "full auto" shooting (holding the shutter button down and taking photo after photo).Recording data from the camera as fast as it's produced is tough for any memory card and indeed a few of my old, slow CF cards from the "1 or 2 GB era" cannot keep up. But my newer "premium" CF cards can, and so can the CF to SD adapter, so I am 100% pleased with it.As far as quality, the adapter is nicely made. It seems a touch heavier than I would have expected, but it is solidly made so no complaints here.The SD card socket is the "push-push" type. You insert the SD card, press it in and it latches with a click (i.e. it can't slide out under vibration). To remove the SD card, just press it again and it pops out about half way under spring pressure.In summary, this adapter is well built, works great, the data speeds are almost good as an actual CF card and it saves the user a lot of $$$ compared to buying CF cards. I give it both thumbs up.5Problem SOLVED with the Nikon/Canon CF card slot!Camera: Nikon D4SCards: Multiple SD cards, from Transcend 2 GB SD Card (TS2GSDC) to SanDisk Extreme PRO 32GB UHS-I/U3 SDHC and higher.Tether for import: Apple Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader (MD822AM/A)With the iPhone 5S and above now able to actually use its internal Photos app to read and import from SD cards using the Lightning adapter, I also needed an SD to CF card adapter, since the Nikon D4S has no SD card slot. We need the adapters to transmit images while shooting breaking news and late sports games, and while my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ1000 can do this, its 1" chip size makes it hard to justify using it to shoot late night images and footage, like the D4S can. I've already added a GGS Perfect Foldable LCD Viewfinder to the LCD screen because we are required to capture video as well, using the smaller one which fits better than the newer, more expensive one, which didn't fit. Couple this with my NIKKOR 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G Lens and I can shoot a number of daytime events, night scenes, high school football and basketball, and transfer any images and 1080p, full frame video I want using all the SD cards I have, from the 2GB, 4, 8, 16, 32 (have yet to try 64GB). I've tried shooting them with stills and video and no problems with any buffer delays. Using the old 2GB CF card, I could shoot 1080p video and I tried sitting on the 11fps shutter and it kept shooting without a need to pause to write, so the newer cards work even better, writing to the card inside. It also works using a Kingston Digital SD Adapter with 16GB microSDHC Card (SDC4/16GBET) but the rub on a MicroSD adapter is that there is no fingernail ridge to help you remove it from the CF adapter. It's easy to remove the MicroSD but you need to do a little work to remove the MicroSD / SD adapter. That can be a good thing if that's all you use; the micro card easily slides in and out but the micro adapter is snugly secure.An IMPORTANT note however. Make certain, for the Nikon cameras, to get the CF Type I adapter, and NOT the Type II size. Nikons only accept Type I cards which are thinner, and Type II does not properly fit, nor are they supported by Nikon.5Confirming it works fine with Samsung 512 GB EVO Plus microSDXC512 GB microSD with its micro-to-full-sized adapter works with this Espresscard-to-SD adapter.The adapter takes a full sized SD card, so you have to use the micro-to-full-sized adapter that comes with the SD card. That means a redundant set of electrical connections to go bad. Next generation needs an Expresscard adapter that accepts microSD cards directly.Sony Vaio VPCF1 1st-generation-i7 laptop. Adapter sticks out a few millimeters, no problem, not enough to get stuck on passers-by.Laptop says card capacity is 476 GB, and I have 23 GB remaining. All my torrent-sharing is done on with SD card, happy to get the continual activity off of the mechanical hard drive and onto the SD card. Thanks for the Expresscard-to-SD adapter. Now the laptop has an extra, fast 512 GB in addition to the 512 GB hard drive, and there's no downside to keeping the Expresscard adapter inserted continuously. It does, however, insert, lock, and remove without any problem.5Does what it says it does.Bought together with a bunch of 128GB Samsung Evo micro SD cards so I can be away from a PC on a long road trip. This combo works just fine in my now pretty ancient Canon 5D mk2. Performance is ever so slightly reduced versus my performance CF cards - flushing the buffer takes a bit longer, image playback is a bit slower. It's very marginal though and I can live with it for having 4x the capacity for the same cost (CF vs. SD).I also didn't want to buy any more CF cards as I use the micro SDs in my DJI products, and when I make the shift to a more modern camera body that's likely to be SD based too.As other reviews note, it would have been nice if the SD card was removable without removing the CF card from the camera, and the SD card adapter (since I'm using micosd cards) seems stuck in there now too ... I don't plan to bother removing it and risk breaking things before I travel.4Review of Digigear SDXC/SD/SDHC to CF type II adapterThis was purchased as part of an experiment using SCXC cards in the SD holder, placed in a CF slot in both Nikon and Canon cameras. CF cards are thankfully still available but can be pricey if you want 16 or more GBs. To date, we've had great success using up to 128 GB PNY and Sandisk SDXC micro USB cards in these older DSLRs. Considering the larger size SDXC micro USB cards didn't exist (or were extremely expensive) at the time those cameras came on the market, it's nice to get fast speed and large capacity without having to keep many CF cards on hand. Sometimes you don't know a thing is possible until you try it yourself. This was a great buy, promptly fulfilled by Amazon as always. Highly recommended if your camera can use a Type II CF.5Great for additional storageWorks great as a backup for my Nikon D810. I run two 128gb micro sd cards in sd adapters, on in the primary and now one in the CF slot for overflow pictures with this adapter. Some have said it fits tight, I didn't think so. The one weird thing is that with the design the SD goes in sideways so you have to take the adapter out to get to the SD. No biggie, you'll rarely take it out anyways. This worked perfect for me.5Perfect adapter for reviving an old iPod.Worked like a charm! While the CF cards may be faster, they are a lot more expensive (for example, 64GB SD costs about $35, vs 64GB CF costs at least $70). Also, all of my other devices uses SD and MicroSD cards, so I don't want to get CF cards just for my cameras.My criteria are that the SD + adapter combination are fast enough for me to shoot 8 RAW photos on the 7D, and fast enough to support video-shooting on the 5D2 and 7D. I had tried a previous version of SD-to-CF adapter a couple of years back, but it wasn't fast enough to support either of my objectives. I gave up and used CF for a few years. But then this became available and received good reviews. The price is low enough that I bought one to try it. And it worked! I was actually surprised that this inexpensive adapter is fast enough. I have been using the adapter plus 32GB SD cards for 6 months now and am perfectly happy.5This works for a Honda premium navigation system. Load ...This works for a Honda premium navigation system. Load MP3 or WMA files onto the SD card, plug it into this, insert it into Nav system, select "card" and viola! instant music, podcasts or whatever. Once it is inserted, you do not need to remove it, you can pull out the SD card with tweezers or fine pliers and insert a new SD card while this PCMCIA card is still locked into the stereo unit.BTW:I have read that, for Honda navigation systems, you cannot use an SD card greater than 4GB, It may work but not reliably. I don't know this first hand but 4GB is like 12,000 MP3 songs. Oh yeah, If you reformat the card select either FAT or FAT32 file system, newer XFAT or NTFS formats will not work since the 2006 - 2011 Honda sound systems were developed using the older file systems. The unit closes snug and the size is just right.5
