Customer Reviews

Better products out thereMy wires on my professionally framed photos did not fit in the notch on these hangers. Waste of money. Better to get the Command large universal picture hangers- these work for wires or sawtooth backings and are very strong1Good grip and easy to hide. These are a fairly expensive solution to hanging a picture.... especially as compared to simple driving a nail! But sometimes you can't put a hole where you want the picture and I wanted to hang photos on a couple of little-used closet doors. These hangers are really a good solution and they have been in place 3 months with 2 pound pictures on each.I have previously used the hooks and I have found that complete, clean removal is easy, so these are an interesting new experience because they are so flat and easily hidden as compared to the hooks.5Also great for peeling your paint off your walls I've had a few of these fall off the wall now, and break my frames or glass and chip the canvas on a wrapped piece of art... seemed like a good solution for renters like me to avoid making holes, but even after holding for 30 seconds firmly as directed it still fell off after only a few days with art much lighter than it's rated for. May be partially the fault of the paint, which also came off in some cases, but that's a fail in my book. I'm still using some for less valuable objects, like the pet leash in the closet. 2Normally I love command but.... Almost every frame on my walls is put up with the command picture hanging strips (not this product) but when I had frames to hang that were not thick enough to support those strips, I opted to put a wire on them and hang with these wire backed hangers by command, and I'm not so happy about it. Like all command products the strips are great, easy to apply and remove and hold the weight very well, but the hooks are very long and they go far above the frames of the picture. The package says leave three inches from the wire to the top, but it's more like four and these frames are too small for three anyway. It looks unsightly and not at all as professional as other command products. But that doesn't mean you should not think command, like I said, I'm a huge fan. 3Love them It is nice to be able to hang things, and then move them without putting a bunch of holes in the wall. Make sure to buy the right kind, they have hangers for wires, and for serrated hanging devices. They don't interchange well. 5It had one job....and it failed. Woke up in the middle of the night to this. The frame is completely trashed, and I didn t even bother to turn the painting over to see what damage that had sustained. I m just a little too nervous to see it right now. I guess I m lucky that one of my animals didn t happen to be walking underneath it when it fell.I used these because I have plaster walls and I ve been having a hard time finding nails that would work in it, so I guess my search continues. To say I am disappointed in this product is an understatement.1Not a good option!OK... I get the theory behind these and the suggested weight limit... I have some heavier frames, right around 6 pounds. To be safe I used two of these spaced perfectly to support the frame via the attached wire, waited 48 hours for them to set... within 12 hours of the frames being hung the hooks where already pulling loose. Went back to hanging via nail based hangers. These proved to be worthless and I tossed them as such.2Command strips are the literal bestCommand strips are the true 8th Wonder of the World. They're so easy to use and hang things up. Great for apartments where I don't want to spackle every little dot in every wall upon moving. These worked well in hanging a framed movie poster which was fairly heavy. We made sure to wipe the wall with rubbing alcohol first so the adhesive was fresh and held strong.5Be sensible using these hangersI'm getting ready to put my house up for sale and, as part of that effort, all existing nail holes have been filled and sanded and the walls painted. I don't want to put new holes in the walls so, except for my largest pieces, I'm hanging everything with Command strips. So far they've been working well and doing what they're supposed to do.Most pieces are being hung by attaching the strips directly to the frame but some of mine have wire hangers. These Command strips are perfect for that but you need to be careful with how much weight you put on one of these hangers. That wire concentrates the forces involved to a single point instead of spreading them around the frame as the regular strips do. Used sensibly, these hangers are great for the purpose intended. When I move out I'll just peel the paintings off the wall and remove the of the strip that sticks to the wall. When I get to my next home I'll only have to attach a strip to the wall since the frame will still have its existing strip. That will help reduce the cost. A few small nails are A LOT cheaper than these Command strips. It's going to cost me 20-30 bucks to hang everything but it will be worth it.Another advantage is that, if the stager doesn't like where I have put the various art pieces, it will be easy to move them following her advice.4Easy to useLike all other Command products I've used, is easy to set up. I hung a print that has a wire in the back, the only thing is the wire has too much slack so hangs low and the Command hook peeks out at the top. When you step back, you can see the Command hook. I would need to tighten the wire so there is less slack to prevent this.5Doing their job so far. These have been in place for a month. The picture I have hanging exceeds the 5 pound limit. I placed all three hangers side-by-side with the center one slightly higher than the other two. This was an effort to evenly distribute the weight of the picture on the three hangers. As of right now, I would not hesitate to repeat this procedure.5Good and BadTo get the sticking power to hold large frames, this product is VERY long. That means the picture wire must be at least three inches from the top of the frame. Also, the lip to catch the wire on the bottom of the strip is very thin and only grabs very narrow-guage wire. Suggestion to 3M: make a heavy duty SQUARE strip to give you the same holding power, and make a more pronounced lip. Then, it would be worth the money.3Good product, but not for all picsLove that command products don't damage my walls. The only complaint I have with this product is the unless your wire is at least halfway done your frame, the top of the plastic will show above the picture after hanging. I hung an 11x14 frame, in which the wire is placed about 1/3 down the back of the frame and almost an inch of the hanger is visible. This is not attractive so I'll have to find another option, but the product is good, just be sure it will be covered entirely by whatever you're hanging.4
