Customer Reviews

Clarion quality.Gave me great adjustability for my setup. I dont like passive crossovers. Used this for my front stage and ran my bass through it as well. Did improve bass performance but not as much as some of the other reviews suggested. Didnt add any noise. Wish there was more detailed labaling on the crossover knobs. Hard to tell what frequency you are set at. I pared this with the clarion eq and am not running a head unit right now. 5Sounds and works great, for about two yearsI bought this for a discreet audio install in a van using an Alpine PDX-V9 5 channel amp, a 10" pioneer shallow mount sub in a sealed box, and four alpine type R SPR60 Co-Ax speakers, two 6.5" in the factory door spots up front, and two 6x9"s in boxes mounted near the rear seat. I wanted it to appear that there was no stereo at all in the vehicle, and to keep the blank double-din cubby in the factory spot. It worked perfect, and sounded great, for almost 2.5 years, then the sub output quit working, and the next day all outputs quit. I pulled the board out of the case to see if I could clean it or if there was any obvious damage, and while it was a little dusty, I didn't see anything that looked to be an obvious problem. Cleaned, put the case back on, tested, and... nothing. Beware, there is no warranty. When I bought this, it was a $60 piece of kit, and when I had to buy it again today, it was $100. I learned my lesson and paid an extra $8 for a four year protection plan, so when it burns up again in two years, I'll at least be able to get a replacement. 2Good, but....Unit arrived on time and I just installed it a couple days ago. The sound is pretty great. Unit feels solid and the knobs are small but smooth functioning. The subwoofer crossover has a switch to choose between 60 or 90hz cut-off. This may leave a noticeable weak spot in the lower mid-range for a lot of people who are using smaller main speakers that just can't faithfully churn out much in the 90 to 200hz range, especially at volume.Main drawback on the unit so far is that one of the blue LED back lights is malfunctioning and it comes on and turns off intermittently. Sometimes it stays off or on for a whole, sometimes it flashes rapidly. Very distracting at night especially and it makes it look & feel like I've installed a piece of cheap junk in my vehicle with Clarion's name on it.I will most certainly have to replace it. Bummer. I would have given it 5 stars if not for this issue. 3Perfect!Gives large range of frequency tuning possibilities... it knocked out several needs for me actually - sub control, additional volume control, and a method of splitting one input from a 2ch NVX XPLOC2 into sub and front input (and rear if I wanted it) and last but not least, cool-looking lights lol v. bright though, so careful where you install, but mines is under my steering wheel, which fortunately blocks the brightness while driving. It was static-y and quiet at first but apparently that was due to my LOC not being tuned to proper voltages... make sure you check your inputs before blaming this unit! And make sure the wiring is also secure!UPDATE: It's starting to lose output intermittently, I've checked all cables and nothing's loose, I know its the unit because when I fiddle with the knobs it comes back on sometimes. May consider taking apart before ordering the upgrade. 4I stopped using this after getting a loud pop everytime ...I stopped using this after getting a loud pop everytime I turned the car off I traced wiring only to find online that this is a common problem with these I use my other one and have no issues 2Quality Equalizer For LessThis Equalizer has impressive quality! With 105db signal clarity it will definitely produce high quality equialization. I used it to balance out my tweeters and door speakers, because I found my car would sound decent but need more mid and vocals while travelling down the road. I am using an amplifier and infinity Kappa 6.5 coaxials, and this really allowed me to get that "wow factor" back, instead of just loud, I can now get a more full sound out of my door speakers, and with the EQ only filtering for the door speakers, I was able to dial in the perfect amount of bass to them, while trimming the highs to a comfortable level. This is a really high quality EQ, for less than 60 bucks? 7 volt output at 105db will deliver a clean signal to any amp. I was a little let down by the subwoofer channel, as I want to filter my sub to about 125hz and this EQ has a switch for 60 or 90 hz. That would work for many, but I like to hear 85 - 125 hz bass tones so I keep my sub amp hooked to the head unit. As long as you know what you are getting, this is undeniably the best EQ you can get for less than $75, period.Update: I ended up getting a new head unit, and I still used this eq because it boosted the signal from 4v to 7v, and I used the sub output of the eq because of the higher signal strength. The filter may be limited to 60 or 90hz on the sub output, but I found that the rolloff is a slope and I could still get decent output of 90hz to 120hz from my subwoofer. 5I can't say enough good things about this deviceI can't say enough good things about this device. My initial goal with this device was to provide a gateway from a DAC out of a Nexus 7 tablet into the amps in my car without just splicing stuff together, with an additional bonus of having a manual volume control and manual equalizer knobs. The fine tuning is fantastic, with no fuzz or popping. Volume control is linear and smooth, the feel of the knobs is great, with just the right amount of resistance. What I didn't expect was the radical improvement of sound in general from the fairly nice Sony head unit that existed in the car before this. The subwoofer output is delightfully warm with the right adjustments, and the signal to the other outputs is wonderfully clean, even during adjustments. I am surprised at the quality of the unit given the price, as I've paid more for less before. What would I improve? It'd be nice if I could change the color of the lights. That's my biggest one. Really. That's it. 5I should have bought this year's ago and you should by it now.Works wonderfully for me so far. Exactly as I hoped and expected it is worth the money. I've seen it vary from 75 bucks up to 120 and I can honestly say I find it worth the cash even at 120. Which I did not pay. I paid 83 even. 5AwesomeThis is a awesome product all around if your very serious about trying to make your sound system more tuned and your on a budget this will do the trick got it hooked up to only 2 amps 1 for sub and other 4 highs i can tell you this much i got a bass remote with my amp for sub dont even use it anymore its already bumping hard with jus this clarionHighly recommend 5good sounding eqthis clarion eq puts out very clear sound with no noise.the 50 hertz knob will almost double the bass if your running a sub. you insert your own power, ground and remote wires. this is good because some eq's have a wire mess hanging from the back. this eq only has one rca input but has front rear and sub outs, this is good if your deck only has one output on the back. it has a aux rca input as well.this eq is put together pretty well, it has a metal frame, the led lights are blue and bright, each knob has rubber grips. this unit is all rca's no wire mess. it really cleans up your music and allows me to play my music louder.the area where you tighten down your ground and power wires unplugs to make it easyer to install the wires without having it pluged in.been using it for about 2 yrs now. 4
