Customer Reviews

Great pliers Tight joint but smooth operation. Great pliers. 5Made in USAMade in USA5Very good cutterThese pair of pliers had a stiff pivot and the handles were poorly ground forward of the pivot. An hours work with small files, oil and valve grinding paste freed it up. Now it is a joy to work with. If they had been more well ground they had deserverd 5+ stars. I'll buy some more of these handy pliers for the tool rolls of my cars and motor cycles. Both Channellock and their customers would benefit greatly if the workers worked less fiercely and more carefully!4Good stuff.Channellock makes a hood quality product. It's still made in Pennsylvania, too. You can't go wrong with Channellock pliers.5Works great, feels rightEvery Channellock USA-made tool is perfect and E346 no exception! Time tested design, great ergonomics and world-class manufacturing - all for a few dollars more than junk tools...5QualityGreat product, no complaints for this item: highly recommend. I have several Channellock tools that I have used for years.5Don't walk...RUN away! The old ones (6" lineman) were much better. They had more metal and were more durable. Mine were stolen so I bought this pliers. It is value engineering run amok. These linemans are a waste of time and money. Not even worth the effort to return.1Jaws don't close all the wayThe Jaws on my pliers don't close all the way. I don't know if these are supposed to be like this or not. But I requested an exchange and will update on the replacement unit.EDIT:I received my replacement pliers today, and it's the same condition (see pics). The jaws don't close. In fact, this one is even worse as now I have a plier with misaligned grips. The Code Blue grips on the left side isn't installed properly (it's not pushed in all the way). I tried pushing it in, but it doesn't budge; it looks to be glued down tightly.I don't want to keep returning to Amazon until I receive a good one, so I'm keeping this one. Channellock should be ashamed of their QC. If I were starting over, I'd go with Knipex pliers.3Worked fine - went bad fast I m an electrician and I thought I d give these a try since they were cheaper and had a reputable name attached to them. They worked fine for about 2 months of daily use but began to stiffen up to the point of not being able to open them with one hand. Get a Klein d2000 - they re about $20 more and will last years rather than months. 1Great toolDefinitely a great pair of pliers.5What is not to love about Channel Lock productsWhat is not to love about Channel Lock products. I remember my dad giving me my first pair of Channel Lock slip joint pliers when I was a kid to fix my bike. I've been a fan ever since. These 6" pliers are good if you are working with smaller wires but want the surface area and stability that a lineman's pliers provides. It is easier to work with these for smaller cables than the 8 or 9" versions which tends to be required for thicker cables.5Sent me a previously returned item- defectiveIt was clear from the packaging that these were returned previously. Probably for the same reason i am returning them. They don t come close to meeting together. For a 6 inch linesman, they are useless for small gauge wire that one would typically use them for. I feel bad for the next sap that they send these to. I spent the extra money for a good brand . Mistake1A great price for big pliers Beautiful pliers. Very efficient in cutting, but I believe it could get better finished, lacked space to write the brand name. But other than that, I love these blue handles. The handles very comfortable. A great price for this big pliers. 5Worth the dough. Four stars out the box...or packahing anyway. Always was iritated by the way my channellock grips were kinda crappy. Love the code blue handles. Even if they come off, it's easier to put back on than the dipped ones. Bought these as an alternate to a $50 combo pliers from Klein. Been an tradesman gor decades and I have to say I love the Channellock brand. Wanted these to lighten my belt a bit. Replaces linemans, reamer and honestly I strip wire with them too...and hammer...and remove staples. Also, they're my go-to cutters as well. More after a couple months. 4I love Channellock Tools! Very good quality tool love using it it s small and light in my hand and the price was very good better than in the store 5Jaws grip well and handles are very comfortable I used this Channellock 8-inch combination pliers when installing the wiring for lights in my basement. The jaws gripped well when twisting pairs of 12 ga. wires together prior to installing wire nuts. The Code Blue cushion handles are very comfortable. I have a smaller version of this same tool, but haven't found it as useful. 5US made version of European-style combination pliers. If you are looking for a US version of the combination pliers more typically offered by German manufacturers such as Knipex or NWS, these new Channellock pliers are one of your few choices. (Klein also makes a similar tool with an added crimper behind the pivot.) Combination pliers are different from most standard American pattern lineman's pliers in that they have a curved set of gipping teeth behind the flat section of the jaws. Based on limited use, I still prefer the German combination models. The jaws on the Channellock are relatively stiff. The square edges of the head just above the handles and around the pivot area are finished at a very crisp 90 degree angle - to the point where I think you could draw blood if you weren't careful reaching into your toolbox. A little extra attention during manufacturing to relieve these needlessly sharp edges would be an improvement. 4
