The locking system of the separate transparent part allows you to adjust the pole length anywhere between 6.7" and 15.7". The transparent material makes it seemingly disappear in photos.     • FLOATS IN WATER: When you drop this floating hand grip/pole into the water, it will float. Its bright color will make it easy to spot. Alternatively you can add water to the hand grip compartment, so the bobber can achieve neutral buoyancy underwater.
    • STORAGE COMPARTMENT: The cap on the bottom of the Floating Hand Grip can be unscrewed to reveal a hollow compartment that can be used to add water (to achieve neutral buoyancy underwater) or store small items.

    My husband has lost 2 GoPros in the water so ...My husband has lost 2 GoPros in the water so this was such an exciting find for a gift for him! He has used it several times and loves it. I also got him the AKASO EK7000 4K WIFI Sports Action Camera instead of the GoPro brand and this works well with the AKASO brand as well5Perfect for water activities Works exactly as advertised. Floats nicely on whatever configuration you use, and seals very well. The only times a bit of water went in was when I changed the length while it was still wet, but it dried up on its own. Felt very sturdy, I swam underwater, between waves, jumped off a small cliff with it, no issues. 5Strap not durable and caused loss of new GoPro Hero7I was generally pleased with the waterproof telescoping selfie stick I purchased with my new GoPro Hero7 Black three weeks ago. We took it with us to the Red Sea diving trip and it worked great for 10 dives. On the 11th dive we were at Thistlegorm and there was a fair amount of surface current. The strap for this rubbed against the guide rope and snapped, instead of floating like it was supposed to, it sank slowly in the water column, enough to get away from me. If it would have floated as advertised I could have recovered it, or sank like a stone I could have grabbed it from the bottom. Instead it fell slowly enough to get grabbed by the current and pushed out of reach slowly sinking so it settled some where far from the dive site at a depth where it could not be recovered. Lesson learned on getting something more durable. If it would have floated as advertised it would have helped, and if it doesn t float in the Red Sea then it certainly will not float in any other ocean.1DOES NOT COLLAPSE INTO HANDLEYou have to attach the longer arm to the handle for a longer pole. I thought that the longer 2 tiers collapsed into the handle. I was wrong. You have to remove the mount from the handle and screw on the pole for a longer selfie stick. Still works great and I enjoy it. Just wish I had the flexibility of making it short as the handle, or as long as possible quickly. This is not a quick transition from short to long.4It's ok. Still looking for the right one.Overall, its just "ok".I am using this with a GoPro Hero5 Black.Likes:+Seems well made+Grip is soft and nice+Strap feels strong.+Using the handle as waterproof storage is niceDislikes:-The clear extendible stick is a separate piece (didnt know when I ordered). Take that into account, and there are better floating sticks out there.-The mount for the camera is a very proprietary part. If it breaks, you wouldn't be able to find just that one piece, you would end up needing to buy an entire new stick, so dont over tighten the camera mount.-It can just BARELY keep a the hero5 black floating. If you put anything else in the handle (i put 5 USD rolled up) the camera will sink. If you are using a GoPro Session, or a smaller/lighter camera , this might not be a problem.-It would be cool if you could fit a backup battery in the handle. (but would probably sink because of the above)I dont know if I would recommend this stick or not....Its a solid made stick with some quirks, if the above dislikes dont matter to you, I would say go for it. If any of the dislikes bother you, then I would say keep looking.3I guess from the pictures I figured I could collapse ...I guess from the pictures I figured I could collapse all of the poles down as one unit. This is not how this works. To use the smallest setting you have to take off the top clear section.4good value -- versatile, buoyant, not entirely waterproof.This floating, "waterproof" telescoping pole and hand grip are good. I like the option to have the more compact grip and when needed the longer one. They do, both float. The smaller one is good because you can put some things in it that you may not want to get wet - though they may get a little wet, even if only in the shallow pool.My bigger concern was the longer, clear plastic part, where water will leak in. It still floats and it never filled up with water, but it was and is not "water proof" at all. This is not a big issue, however what is annoying is that there is no easy way (or any at all) to drain the water and dry it out. Eventually, that water will turn nasty, who wants that?4READ, it could help you.I ordered this item excited that it seemed compact and easy to carry. When I got the package, I realized the telescoping clear part is a separate thing, it does not rest inside the base part, so you will be carrying two separate items. If that's ok with you than this would be a good product, however by the way it was advertised I was slightly misled, and personally will be returning mine, however it is good quality material and may be right for some, just not me.2This is the perfect mix if you plan on using is at theme ...I did quite a bit of research trying to find a handle/pole for the GoPro. This is the perfect mix if you plan on using is at theme parks like Disney and Universal, because you can remove the pole extension and just carry the handle. Most parks do not allow "selfie sticks". We used this at the water parks also, works great on the slides. Make sure you use the wrist strap in case you drop the handle while on rides. The handle floats really well, we used it at the beach and in the pool several times.5The colors and clear tubing made it look cool. I wish the compartment was just a little ...I had so many people ask me about this on my last Disney cruise. The telescopic pole was so convienient to get myself in the composition instead of just the kids in the viewfinder. The colors and clear tubing made it look cool. Great value.I purchased this item to use my GoPro on a trip to Florida where we would be going swimming with manatees and riding on an airboat. In both instances I wanted something short to hold in my hand to give me better control over the GoPro and something that would float in case I dropped it. This product worked great. The handle is rubbery and provided a nice grip while wet. The tube within the grip stayed dry after 1 1/2 hours in the water. It was light weight and floated so it was easy to handle and I was not worried about dropping it (although it comes with a safety wrist strap which I used). I liked that you had the option of only using the handle separately. I did not use the extension for this trip. But I played with it a bit and it seems sturdy. It is made of plastic and I suppose if you really torqued it, it would break. But it seemed solid enough for its purpose. I would recommend this item to a friend.5
