Works on Nexus Player not Nintendo SwitchWorks on Nexus Player with an OTG adapter. Does NOT work with Nintendo Switch. It's inexpensive and seems well built. I'd buy it again.5Lifesaver!I purchased this for a work trip I was taking as A) my Lenovo laptop does not have an 8P8C (ethernet/network cable) connection, and B) the site I was going to was having issues with the wifi. This saved the day, no drivers, no install, no dropped connections either! One thing to note though, this adapter is made out of metal (aluminum I believe) which gives it a super-premium feel but does not promote cooling. The sucker gets pretty toasty after a few hours but never stopped working. It never got dangerously hot, but it was a lot warmer than I expected.Small enough to keep in my laptop bag at all time no matter where I'm going.5Works great and decent price! The upside is that for my Macbook Pro 13 (late 2013) on macOS 10.12 it works just fine. No drivers, truly plug and play. I have my Macbook on a 100Mbps switch so it limits the 180Mbps that I get from my cable provider. I am getting 92.34Mbps down and 5.37Mbps up. This is slightly worse than my Accell USB to Ethernet adapter, which you have to install the driver for, as it gets 99.81Mbps down and 5.17Mbps up. So, almost the same but for $9.99, this will do just fine! I took a star away as it wasn't quite as good as my Accell adapter but the CableCreation adapter will go into my travel bag.BTW, the ping latencies differences are likely as Speedtest selected different servers but the latencies should not have much of an affect on the up/down speeds. Just not great if you are gaming and need a fast response, ie. low network latency... or VoIP phone call for that matter! ;-)4GreatI'm an IT manager and order these for my work. We have dozens of them and do not have any issues. They work as they should and are sturdy.5Works great.Works great. Haven't had any problems with it so far. I replaced an amazon basics ASIX based usb adapter with this one which uses a realtek chip. The ASIX drivers used by the amazon basics adapter were super flaky and kept loosing connection/dhcp leases. There are many other USB adapters that use the exact same ASIX chip as the amazon basics adapter, so if you've had trouble with any of those maybe give this one a try.5Just works, Mac OSX and Ubuntu 16.04Unfortunately, stopped working by the third time I used it. The first two times I used it, it was phenomenal. The third time, everything lit up as it should, but the network interface never showed up on my USB. Tried two computers, total of three times, just not working at all.Updating this review (from 1 to 3 and now 3 to 5) due to Cable Creations reaching out to me in response to this review offering technical support. For some odd reason, this adapter is working this morning (no changes anywhere). This was both on my MacBook air and on my Ubuntu 16.04 computers. I use the Ubuntu for my daily work, so will leave it in place for the day to see how it goes. If all goes well, will update to 5 stars with an unexplainable failure that was apparently temporary.I will have to see what Amazon wants to do.5Works greatMy NIC on my motherboard, which was also the only internet connector built into my computer broke, so I had been living with an old USB Wifi adapter. This is a huge improvement, and puts my speeds back up to where they should be. If your ethernet port breaks on your computer's end, this is a great solution. If you have a laptop that doesn't have an ethernet port, this is also probably going to be a great solution, but you will likely sacrifice a USB 3 port, as I imagine you can't simply use a hub, but don't quote me on that.5No drivers! But link status indicator hard to seePros:* It's actually plug and play! Verified working on Mac OS X 10.10 with no drivers. This convenience is worth a lot to me.Cons:* The link status indicator is inside the unit. I have to hold it up at an angle to see if it's showing link. I don't think I would be able to see it at all if the RJ45 connector on the cable I'm using wasn't clear.* There is no network activity indicator.* The plastic casing was a little damaged, appears to be a manufacturing defect.4The BEST $10 I've spent ALL YEAR!I just upgraded to Cox Gigablast 1 GB Internet from 100Mbps on a deal for $64.99 for 24 months!Couldn't pass that up! Since it was essentially getting 10x the speed for the same price. Though, like most people you don't get what you pay for.My 100 Mbps service usually only yielded an average of 72Mbps (When they advertise or sell you the service it is usually worded "up to 100Mbps", "up to 1 GBps", etc.I just upgraded to a new laptop with 1GBe Ethernet card, Netgear's "World's Fastest" Modem "CM1000" and World Fastest Router "R700 Nighthawk". "Home Improvement's Tim Allen would be proud! ahh ahh ahhh!I bought into the whole Amazon Alexa Universe with Echo Dot in every room, 2x Roku Smart TVs a bunch of other 5Ghz tech like security cameras, etc.Everything now at the speed of light...except for two of my older laptops and tablets that had the older 10/100 Ethernet/WiFi cards. Which were now getting only 45-72Mbps... Poor Poor Laptops.... which had fast processors, 32 GB of RAM, all 1-2TB SSD drives that make any computer 100% faster or more when replacing the old mechanical HDD, but still no way to fully benefit from the full increased speed of my 1GB connection!?For weeks I looked into replacing the ethernet cards/chips on these devices but since most are hardwired into the devices, unlike desktops where you remove the case cover, pull out the old card and pop in a new one, most laptops don't offer this plug and play capability, making it an expensive proposition that may cause more complications if the new ethernet/wifi card is not fully compatible with the device's motherboard.I was looking at $hundreds more to do this until a techie buddy of mine suggested CableCreation's USB 3.0 adapter, stating that just like the ethernet card, it still requires throughput on the motherboard and he used them on computers where the RJ45 plug port was broke as an inexpensive and much much faster solution alternative to the more expensive removing and replacement of the old ethernet/wifi card.I logged onto my most recent's BFF Jeff Bezos website Amazon.com where if I want something he and his teams find it, ship and have it in my hot little hands in as little as a few hours. The order said 2 days, I said Son of a ... well you know! But Psych!...it showed up the next day...a day earlier!Proof that Jeff & Company loves us... or at least me! ;) :PI ripped open the little bubble wrap package plugged it into one of my older laptops all running Windows 10, plugged the ethernet Cat6 cable into the CableCreation ethernet adapter and the CableCreation ethernet adapter into one of the 3.0 USB slots went to my network noticed it automatically recognized and configured the new Ethernet 2 port and disconnected the old ethernet connection. Nothing for me to do except "Fire it up!"Which I opened my browser and went out onto Fast.com and to my surprise, my old decrepit computer was once again playing with the big boys on the internet!Taking the upgraded 1GB internet service wher I had faster than before speeds of 90Mbps over the old 100Mbps service of I would only get 45-72 Mbps to now 500+Mbps on this laptop! At this point I got all tingly and though I wasn't getting the 600-860Mbps speeds the newer machines with 1GB+ capabilities my poor old laptops were now faster than I ever thought possible!Making this $10.99 + tax with my Prime Member Free Shipping the best $10...$10.99 + tax purchase of 2019!Thanks CableCreations! Thanks Amazon!... (in a lower voice) Thanks Jeff!! :DAttached photos are the real deal!THE END!.... Actually... THE BEGINNING!5An odd application with the iPad...but it works!I have spotty wireless internet at my house and prefer wired internet were possible. This was not a problem for most of my devices that have a Ethernet port built in, but in the case of the iPad, that becomes a problem. After doing many hours of research trying to figure out what I was going to need in order to get wired internet on my iPad I discovered it really was not as complicated as I made it out to be. All you need are three things, this adapter, the iPad adapter with lighting connector in and USB in, and a power brick with lightning cable to connect into the Apple adapter. I used both a 10w and 12w Apple power brick and both work fine. A 5w adapter most likely will not provide enough power to charge the iPad and use the adapter at the same time but was untested by myself. Once all of this is connected, there might be a window that appears in the middle of the screen that tells you that the Apple adapter is updating. After that is done, go to settings on the iPad and a brand new setting will appear where you can adjust the wired networking settings for the iPad just like you would for the wireless networking.Great device no issues so far and recommend for people with a problem similar to mine.5Very nice device! Build quality: incredibly sturdy design. Metal body, very compact, strain relief at cable ends, braided cable sheathing, USB connector fits well. By all appearances it should last a good long time. Also network activity LEDs are discreet but visible. You can easily see them even in a bright room, but if you use in a pitch black room they aren't overly bright.Function: works perfectly with linux, truly plug and play. gigabit speeds work flawlessly, was able to get consistent file transfer speeds of 120 GB/sec.One important note here, since this is a standard USB connector: USB 2.0 will only function at about 320Mbps (~40MB/sec). And network speeds will only be as fast as the slowest piece in the chain. I have a USB (2.0) extender cable that I used to use occasionally with my NIC...and of course when I did my initial speed tests with it my speeds were closer to 300Mbps than gigabit speeds. But removing the 2.0 cable was all it took. 5
