Very noticable difference in signal quality++++I originally purchased a y-splitter(non-powered) to use with my projector(15ft extension) and monitor(4ft extension). This rendered both devices unusable due to a MARKED deterioration of signal.This device works exactly as stated; splitting and boosting the signal. I immediately noticed a significant improvement in picture quality on both my devices and am very pleased with this product.The product powers on an off when your computer powers on and off and consumes only 10mw when in standby.One other note is that this product has all female connectors so you can use standard cables. It does not come with any VGA cables so be sure you have one for the computer-input connection.All in all a great product 5easy to use and installI needed to replicate some information in 3 monitors. it was very easy to install, worked as expected, signal was ok (someone reported it was not as sharp as connecting directly to a pc, no one else reported any problem), there was no need to check the manual.I bought this one because of the female connector, this allowed me to use normal cables I use for other monitors. 5... three stars because the quality of the picture is good. Better off buying an external video card for extension. 3Excellent!We were having trouble at our church running multiple projectors and TV screens. We were getting loss of signal which caused the projectors to dim. This powered product fixed all of that. We are running 2 projectors, 1 monitor, and 1 TV from this box. As long as all of the resolutions are similar on the displays, it will look beautiful. We are very pleased with the product and would highly recommend. (This unit uses regular VGA cables so you won't have to buy special cables like some other models.) 5YES!! PerfectI have a desktop computer in one room and an LG 32" TV in the next room. Wanted to watch streamed movies on the television and needed to get the monitor signal to the TV. Ran a spare RGB cable from the computer to the box and plugged in the monitor and a long RGB cable with integrated audio line between the box and television. Worked immediately with no fiddling. The box is quite small.Note that I have just the native video circuitry in the HP computer, not a more exotic video card. So my options in the Control Panel for monitor is strictly the Generic Monitor. At the LG television end, I get a correct version of the monitor screen in 4:3 format, but cannot use the entire television screen height. I can go to the wide format and use the LG's controls to decrease the width and can get close to correct proportions (slightly stretched width) and most of the TV screen being used. I could likely do better with a higher grade video card, but that's something you want to think about. But, that's not the splitter's responsibility. The monitor image it sends to the television is perfect and appears to be at full resolution. 5rock solid, stable, imageI have a security camera at my front gate, some 1,000 feet from my workshop. I used this to provide 3 feeds of the camera, so it can be seen all over my 3,000 sq foot shop. The longest run is 125 feet. The image is rock solid. I just spent 4 hours working at a bench that had the monitor that is 125 feet away in direct line of site, the image did not flicker or distort once. 5Excellent Picture Quality - Great Build QualityThis unit is excellent. It uses standard cables, and has excellent picture quality, and no delay or ghosting even with devices connected with different cable lengths.When I first connected it, I did have to re-run the auto-calibration ("Auto Image Adjust") on my monitor to get a clear picture (to adjust "Fine Tune"), but after doing that, it looked great! Probably something to do with the amplified signal.I have a monitor and projector connected to this unit. The monitor is a Viewsonic professional grade LCD monitor with 1600x1200 native resolution, and the projector is a Viewsonic projector with 1024x768 native resolution. I use my monitor for regular computer work, and I turn on the projector as a Home Theater to show feature films, home movies, home photos, and web pages for couch potato surfing. The monitor is connected with a standard 3 ft cable, and the projector is connected with a 15 ft extension.I am very picky and critical of picture quality, but this unit delivers excellent quality. I compared the picture quality on my monitor and projector with direct connections and with this unit installed, and I notice no difference. There is no ghosting, no delay, no color loss with this unit. It just works, and prevents me from having to constantly swap connectors between my monitor and projector to watch movies, or show photos. Even with the monitor and projector connected with different cable lengths, there are no issues.This unit delivers great picture quality at the resolutions I use (1600x1200 and 1024x768). I switch my video card to 1600x1200 when I'm using just the monitor, and to 1024x768 when using the projector, too.I am so happy not to have to unplug my monitor to plug in my projector anymore. The unit is small enough to disappear on my computer desk. Best of all, it has all female connectors, so it uses standard monitor cables.I called Cables-To-Go tech support before I purchased the unit and confirmed that it is actually the exact same unit as their part number 29550 Cables To Go - 29550 - 2-Port UXGA Video Splitter Extender except that this one (29503) has all female connectors instead of the one male connector like on the 29550 that requires either a special cable or adapter to use. This 29503 unit is truly plug and play.Cables-To-Go tech support also confirmed one detail that is confusing on their spec sheet, and this Amazon description: The description/spec states "Maximum Resolution: 1920 x 1440 pixels at 80 Hz," and also states "UXGA provides a screen resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels." The Cable-To-Go tech said that the max resolution of this unit is 1600x1200, and that he did not know where the 1920x1440 number came from, and that they would research it. So, don't count on 1920x1440 without first calling Cables-To-Go to confirm.This unit's video bandwidth of 350 MHz is the highest I found among competing units. That is what allows you to have the high resolution with no ghosting, delay, or color issues.Highly recommended. 5Perfect for running multiple projectors!I purchased this unit to split the VGA signal from the computer to run to multiple projectors over 100' VGA cables. It does a wonderful job. Plug and play. The highest resolution I have used is 1280x1024 and it works perfectly.The advantage of this over running cables from projector to projector is:1) Amplifies the signal (good for long VGA runs)2) The projectors do not have to search for the input if you switch inputs. (When switching between RCA and VGA using a converter box, using this unit will allow the image to show immediately from either source. Without this unit, you would run VGA cables from projector to projector, and all the projectors after the projector with the source will take a few seconds to search for the signal when switching sources) 5C2G VGA SPLITTER/EXTENDER EASY AS PIEI am AV chair for a local service club, which is hosting a large convention here in 2 weeks. I ordered the 1>4 splitter, hooked it up today to test it in the actual configuration I will be using. Worked like a charm. Attached the cables, dual projectors, and computer, plus a back-facing monitor screen for the speaker. Turned it all on, and it worked perfectly. Hard to make the setup any simpler to put together. I'd recommend this unit to anyone with a similar problem to solve. Simply great!NOTE: Get the all-female connector model (#29504), you can use your excess male to male VGA cables left over from all those trashed monitors in the setup. Originally I ordered a male input connector model and sent it back when I realized my mistake. 5Good UXGA splitterI normally run a 21 inch flat-face Trinitron direct view CRT monitor at 1600*1200 85Hz or higher. I needed to split my signal so it would run to both a remote control device (so I have remote control over the boot process) and to the monitor (so I can use the system normally when present).I have tried a couple other 'high frequency' VGA splitters, even one that claims a maximum dot clock of 400MHz, but this one is clearly the best I have seen so far. Others might be a little cheaper, but this one was easily worth the few dollars difference.At 1600*1200 85Hz, the output from this splitter is nearly as clear as directly wiring to the video card; even at 1800*1440 75Hz, it is clean and crisp. The image is stable on the screen (no sync drift), contrast is excellent, edges are crisp, full colour and brightness range shows through cleanly, and best of all, almost no shadows or echoes.A further benefit is this splitter propagates the DDC from my monitor to the PC, so the PC knows when it has a monitor and what kind of monitor it has. This is an advantage when using some modern OSes and hardware which will prefer higher refresh rates and resolutions when the monitor admits support, but may not even allow high refresh rates or higher resolutions without DDC support. In addition, some laptops use this to know whether there is a monitor attached, and automatically switch to (or expand their desktop to, as appropriate) the monitor.No, this will not expand your desktop by itself; you need a video card that supports that feature and has two independent video output connections. What this device will do is send the same signal to two separate display devices, and it will do that without distortions. 5
