    Great for use with USB lightning cable in charging mobile devices. No current loss.I purchased several of these extension cables at less than $2 each. They're perfect for extending the reach of our 3ft lightning cables at a fraction of the cost of buying new 6ft cables. I measured the voltage and found little to no current loss, when the extension cable is attached. I have only used these cables for charging mobile devices, so I don't know how well it would perform with data transfer (if at all).53-Foot (1-Meter) USB Extension CableThis is a good buy that I got from VORTEX CABLE who sold the cable here on Amazon. I'm using this USB extension cable to connect to the cable for a scanner and it works. I tried this extension cable with my Flip UltraHD camcorder, but it didn't work for me. So I'm using a shorter 6-Inch USB Extension Cable with my Flip camera. Anyways, I'm planning on getting another one of these longer 3-Foot (1-Meter) USB extension cables because I think I could always use another one.Update Jan. 3, 2010: I got this cable working with my Flip UltraHD when I connected this 3-Foot (1-Meter) USB Extension cable to a USB add-on pci card that I installed on the motherboard of my sister's desktop computer. Got access to the drive on the Flip and also fully charged the rechargeable battery on the Flip UltraHD. I guess the USB add-on pci card that I installed on the motherboard had more power. When I previously tried this 3-Foot (1-Meter) USB extension cable with my Flip UtraHD camcorder but was unsuccessful, that was when plugging the cable into the USB port on my macbook. But the desktop PC in this particular situation had better success. Go figure. I guess it could be hit or miss. Your results may vary because I've also seen problems with USB ports on other desktop PCs when trying to connect to other devices. Anyways, I'm getting another one of these cables since I gave the one I had to my sister for her desktop computer.5not the product pictured; works with apple usb power adapter, not generic power adapterFirst off, let me say I have purchased several cables from cables to go and usually have had a good experience, especially given the price point. But alas, things didn't work out super peachy this time.I got this cable to charge an ipod shuffle with a generic but quite reliable wall chargerSadly, this cable does not work with that charger. Nothing happens when I plug in the shuffle. (And yes, the charger is working fine....)This cable does work, however, with apple's $25 5w wall charger. I hadn't planned on using this cable with apple's overpriced charger, but so it goes.Finally, be forewarned: the cable pictured is not the one you will get--or at least it isn't the one I just got in the mail. I bought this same cable a year ago from the same seller, and that one looks exactly like the picture, complete with a tidy plastic enclosure around the female end of the cable. That cable worked--and still works--perfectly, plus it looks nice sitting on my desktop.The cable I received just now has a naked metal female coupling and the cable itself is 1/2 the width of the one I purchased a year ago. The item is thick and sturdy. No transmission issues with the camera signal and the ext cable works as advertised.5Just a cable, but a good oneThis cable is simple, straight to the point, and a great price. No, it doesn't have gold leads or pretty veneer, but it is perfect for its purpose. I used it to reach USB ports that are on the other side of the PC. It's also great for using for your USB plug. In other words, if you use USB in/out connections all day, you might just add this connection to the PC so that you constantly plug and unplug from this extension. This saves wear/tear on your PC USB plug. I consider this a $3 repair on the USB plug in advance, vs. the $50 or more I'd have to pay for a real repair...5Needed an extender that actually worked, & it did.Was worried when I saw a white wire usb extender in the Dollar Store, thinking this might be the same, but no mistake this is heavy duty thicker one, and it works. I have had an extender purchased a few years back that didn't work on anything but my keyboard, as anytime you extend more then 5' you risk power loss. This is made to prevent loss on the wire length and worked with my phone whereby the other wire would pulse the phone charge audio signal without working. Haven't tried it on my usb fan yet, but will change this review to reflect that if it doesn't function.5A great dealI bought several of these 10' length cables.I originally intended to use them to extend the length of the power connections for some Wifi cameras, but I actually ended up using them around the house to extend the charging cable for our cellphones.Invariably, whenever I sit down to do some internet searching or texting on my phone, the phone is low on charge and I'm just a little too far from an electrical outlet to charge it while I fiddle with the phone. These solve that problem nicely and inexpensively. With this extension I can now reach over and take care of the unplug re-plug myself.5Works as extension for Apple charging too.The cable that comes with my Apple chargers was too short. Some other USB extension cables caused my phone and iPad to give errors as if the charger was detected but not enough power. This cable allows my devices to charge as if there were no extension present. Highly recommended. Works well for regular USB 3.0 data transfers also.5Excellent USB 2 extension cableExcellent USB 2.0 extension cable, e.g. to extend a smartphone charging cable longer. (I haven't used it much for data rather than charging.) I also use it with a short micro usb cable like the excellent (3-Pack) BuyCheapCables 5" USB Cable 2.0 A Male to Micro B (5 Inch) or similar to make a full-length micro usb charging cable having a sort of break-away emergency strain release: the short cable will pop out of this extension cable automatically in case of excessive force, before it can damage the micro usb port on your device (especially in the case of pulling to the side). Seems sturdy and durable, with molded strain relief and a thick cord. I've found that it doesn't slow down my charging rate like some cables (it has relatively low electrical resistance, presumably due to its relatively thick 24AWG copper power conductor wires). It's a very good value at around $4 each for the 3 meter version, or an absolute steal at $2 each with free shipping as an add-on item with my prime membership.5
