    Every thing about this company so far is excellentI love the blanco products this basket waste drain is a wonderful design I was so impressed with the design very easy install. It has its own gasket all I needed was plumbers putty I also purchased the blanco double bowl sink which is beautiful in the review on the sink I said I used a moen faucet I was wrong I used a delta faucet to replace a moen the moen faucet lasted for 13 years it was a good one I went with delta because of the reviews, this basket waste drain is not made of metal but is very sturdy im am so pleased with my new diy project. Customer service is awesome I had a question about the drain and the lady was going to send a new basket drain without question there was nothing with it it was an error on my part I corrected the problem I created and the drain is perfect but I was so glad to not have to haggle and argue nor be treated rude she helped me without making me feel stupid and for that I thank her very much. I do most all my remodeling but there is so many new products put together in an easier way than I m sometimes used to it was a pleasure talking with her and I appreciated her help she was very knowledgeable. Thank you for making this an enjoyable experience.5Easiest Strainer Basket To InstallThis is the best strainer basket I have installed and used. I like the all rubber (no putty) seals. Very clean. This made installation a breeze. Simply place metal strainer, with thin rubber seal, into sink and then plastic strainer basket under sink with thick rubber gasket. Center screw type connector is great for ease of tighten lower basket to upper strainer basket. This hole-type screw also serves for the easy push in strainer/sink seal. Simply lift up to drain.You may think the lower basket being plastic is a negative but, this is actually a positive. It is made of heavy duty PVC which conforms to even commercial installations. Besides, it may (probably will) last longer than metal since it will not corrode from most cleaning elements and minerals in water.Note: This is a polished (shiny) stainless steel strainer basket. This is a good quality steel with a nice chrome-like finish.FYI: I am using this in Blanco 441311 Performa 1.75 Medium Bowl Sink, Biscuit5Doesn't peel! If you have a black sink this is what you want.If you have a composite (in my case Black/Onyx/Anthracite in color) sink and want a drain to match you may have tried a metal sink drain. No matter the color, I have found all of these to be painted brass or painted steel. Hot water down the drain bubbles up the paint. Or using too harsh of a chemical or scrubbing too hard, etc will also remove the paint.This thing is black the whole way through. Yes, it's plastic but it works just fine. I poured some boiling water down the drain to test it (that's what ruined my black metal drain) and the drain is just fine and it is a perfect color and texture match to my sink. Couldn't be happier.5Make sure you purchase the correct piece The product is very good and perfectly matches a Blanco anthracite sink.A few words of caution: This 441090 strainer is for a sink WITHOUT a garbage disposal.Blanco 441095 is for a sink WITH a disposal. 4Matched my other stopper, but it came with more parts than I needed and missing the disposer flangeI added a bunch of photos of the Stainless Steel one since I didn't get to see the side view or what was inside. If this was helpful, please rate this so it goes to the top.I only returned it because I can't seem to find the version with the black flange that goes under the strainer part that fits in a Kenmore disposer. This came with a white outer body which I didn't need. I still rate this 5 stars because it is a good product overall, it just didn't have the part I needed.I'd say it's pricey, but then again, my current Blanco sink is going on 14 years old now! Now if I can just find that rubber piece...5Truffle is the perfect match to the sink.LOVE the truffle color and the ability to match the sink as well. Initially the disposal side had to be stainless (pic2). I didn t know there is a separate flange needed for that side until the plumber was here to install. Ordered the flange in truffle color and it clicks right over the installed stainless piece. Amazon did not have it in stock and I had to go to a separate site to order. The only downside is the rim around the edge of the drains holds a small puddle of water in the sink and doesn t drain completely. If Blanco could make a full flange disposal side drain maybe that problem could be corrected. It doesn t seem to puddle as much in the regular drain side.5Too big for sink drain openingI purchased this sink drainer to go with the Blanco anthracite sink 440194 that I purchased... Cosmetically it was beautiful.. however.. it did not fit properly. It was too big for the opening. When attached to the pipes and then also the drain whole... it did not sit flush with the sink.... therefore water pooled in the sink that never drained. Sadly we had to take it out and go to the local hardware store and get a regular stainless steel basket. Now unfortunately, since I waited until my new countertops were in before installing the sink, its too late to return the item. Nice idea and color , but not proven. $40 is a lot to pay for a non working drainer to have shipped believing it will fit like a glove. ( $8 paid for replacement)The men in my life asked why the sink didn't already come with a working drain basket? I don't know.. Why Blanco?2Answered....All the questions I had before buyingI m writing this with a picture that is as close to the color as what I m seeing in person. There were so many shades online that I was almost afraid to buy this and the sink w/out seeing it first. I wanted it to match my slate appliances and fortunately I wasn t disappointed. I was worried about all the plastic comments and so I researched other sites. Same part number and color but it said it was metal. I think it s both. The main part of the drain is solid molded plastic. It feels durable I just wouldn t over tighten it. The center plug that seals and holds water feels like metal with a matte coating on the top so It matches the drain. If you turn the plug over it feels like metal. I m not an expert and it doesn t say anywhere so I m saying it feels like it. I know it s not molded plastic. The rubber on the stopper is thick but pliable for a nice seal, just give it a little turn. I m glad I chose the warm chocolate brown. I think the anthracite would have been too gray. The second pic is next to my slate dishwasher so you can see how it matches. Even the matte texture is similar to my appliances.I bought the good used from Amazon warehouse and it was brand new wrapped in plastic with instructions. For $26 I don t need the original box.I hope this review helps with your decision.5Does not fit.These seems to be a good product, but I am disappointed that it does not fit the sink it was recommended for at amazon. I bought Blanco BL441024 Stellar Super Single Bowl Undermount Sink, Refined Brushed, and this was the basket strainer recommended as a match for it. It is not. It seals the bottom hole of the sink well, but the upper rim is much smaller than the sink drain rim, so food and other items can flow into the crack around the edge. When you lift it, the food and other debris around the edges goes into the drain, rather than remaining in the basket for disposal in the trash. Disappointing!2Just the Professional Look Needed for the Blanco Sink Finally, I had the plumber install my new Blanco Decorative Basket Strainer in Cafe Brown. He had to do some sawing to get it to fit but it looks stunning and works perfectly. It is better than the stainless steel one that the builder's installed. The new strainer just finishes off the Blanco Cafe Brown sink with a professional look. My only complaint is that you have to have a plumber install it if you don't know plumbing stuff. 5something isn't rightPerfect color match but the installation sucks. The flange drops in and the cup from underneath threads onto a center post that is NOT fixed to the flange. You can only get so tight before the center post starts to spin and needs a backup, but with what. I have over forty screw drivers and none are big enough so it's looking like special tool time. If you don't get something with the right fit you will gouge out the slot and that's not acceptable in a $600.00+ project. Because I didn't get it as tight as I wanted the rubber gasket didn't compress far enough and the lip is not flush with the sink which creates a puddle around the flange. This was of course mounted into a Blanco sink, it should have been a perfect simple fit.7-19 I downgraded it. I kept trying to tighten it enough to lower the lip but no luck. I removed and replaced the thick rubber gasket with a bead of clear silicone. I would have broken something before I could have compressed that thick gasket enough. Other than the color I hate this thing. Sink flanges have been a simple installation for years and these idiots tried to change that for no reason that I can see.1Found the fantastic Blanco sink at a Habitat For Humanity store Could not believe able to purchase top of the line plumbing product . Found the fantastic Blanco sink at a Habitat For Humanity store . But it was sink only , sans drain set . Sink is black and matching drain fixture of importance for a good smooth look.This drain is manufactured with exact design and detail as required for a high end plumbing product. Not some second rate replacement part. The supplier delivered . 5Yes it's plastic.Yes it is plastic. Your drain plumbing is all plastic. What's the beef? Perhaps it is the impression that a nice metal flange with a large lock nut under the sink would make a stronger seal. However this Blanco product has a softer rubber gasket with multiple raised rings on both surfaces of the gasket that seals much better than a stiff flat seal. Further they tell you to apply a thin bead of silicone caulk to the underside of the sink. That will seal what may be the only rough surface. Finally, like another reviewer, I point out that the inside sink plastic has the color through the material so scratches will not expose another underlying color. Far better for the long term impression of a color coordinated sink.But if the beefy look of a stainless steel drain is what you want then don't buy this product.I included the picture so you can get an impression of the quality of color matching an all Blanco installation.5
