Just be sure... Just be sure the area of your toilet between the two seat-mounting holes is completely flat. Our Toto has a slight -- very slight -- hump between those holes. This means the mounting bracket bends ever so slightly when tightened to the surface, and now the seat won't slide onto the bracket. I'm working on a way to install it, but I despair. If I shim up the bracket the seat won't sit right because the back will be slightly elevated and the feet of the seat won't fit flat on the rim of the toilet. I can't believe we're the only humans on the planet with a Toto toilet that features this slight irregularity. Our Toto washlet, installed on a different toilet in the house, doesn't rely on the bracket lying completely flat. Grrr... 3Helps a bit with difficult elder care issues but not as much as hoped, & its maybe not the best value I bought this item to help care for an incontinent person with dementia. I want to write this review so it will be helpful information for others in a similar situation but not TMI or overly descriptive. So let me just say that it didn't meet our best hopes and expectations. but it was easy to install and works. By 'works' I mean, it sprays water out and moves around and there is a fan that blows. All those things do work. However, my elderly charge dislikes it and complains the entire time it runs. Also, I thought the button marked 'enema' in the picture on this product description would help him to have bowel movements since he doesn't even seem to know what to do and will just sit there for long periods of time and not finish up. But the product I got with the button marked 'vortex' just doesn't do it. Another thing that bugs me is when I was about to purchase, the price was $389, I didn't pull the trigger for a day and by the time I did, it was up to $499! I don't think this product is a value or much different than all the other similar products that are half the price. 3Works great! This is the second BioBidet I've bought (the first was a BB-400 several years ago for my last house) and I've been very happy with both. The elongated version is a -must- for men, as the water tank and other stuff in the back of the unit take up alot of room so you will be sitting considerably farther forward than normal. I would go so far as to say not to buy one of these unless you have an elongated bowl toilet, my last purchase was a round style BB-400 for a round style bowl and I often found myself in contact with the front rim of the bowl. If you have a round bowl it is worth considering replacing it with an elongated one before buying one of these units. The remote control handset has worked fine, my only complaint there is that it is much larger and thicker than it needs to be, making mounting it to the wall annoying. Also the main unit no longer has most of the controls on it anymore, which I think is a mistake. The deodorizing fan turns on automatically when you sit down, and works fairly well. Not sure how long the carbon filter will last though. 5Disappointed Disappointed:I bought this product in October 2016,. as of January 2018 I started having water temperature issues with it. Its heating element died just after the 1 year warranty. Now I have to send back to Bio Bidet, pay about 80.00 to send it to them, then pay them about 60-80.00 to fix it. This is not right. A product like this should not die right after the warranty finishes. Note: I travel frequently, so I was not home to use this washlet 6 months out of the full year. Something is not right here, either this product had defective parts or something else.I am not happy that I have to dismantle, ship to them, be without a washlet, so i had to buy a washlet from another provider. I will not buy another bidet again - this inconvenience (at my cost) is too much for me. 1Only One Worth Buying This is the ONLY bidet worth buying and even it has it caveats. The reason it's the only one is two things: It's the only bidet that will give you a real enema wash. No machine with heating on the fly will give you this no matter what they say. So DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! Buy this one ONLY! The hot water tank eliminates the cold rush you get from ALL the others when you first turn it on as well. Because of that hot water tank, it can run full power and build the kind of pressure you need for the enema wash. NO OTHERS DO THIS!When my first one finally died, I tried to "upgrade" it and lost a ton of money. Just stay with this one the way I tell you to set it up and you'll love it!The caveat; running out of hot water: Just team this up through a Biffy Bun Warmer and there you have it. The Bun Warmer gives you over a gallon of warm water and you will never run out. She starts out running off the built in hot water tank to be replaced with the Bun Warmer water. It'll NEVER run out of hot water this way, no matter how long you have to be there.Doing this, makes this the best bidet you can buy no matter the price! Trust me on this! Even others from this brand will NOT do a proper enema wash! And, make sure the two mid supports are actually touching your toilet. I have one that likes to float in the air. DON'T LEAVE IT THAT WAY! In a couple years the whole seat will crack. Trust me on this too. I use craft foam sheets cut and super glued to the support to shim it. No creaks in the seat this way.I highly recommend this seat to anyone! This will spoil you so bad you won't go anywhere else to go. If you get caught having to poop out, you'll feel dirty the whole night even if you use wipes. Using this with the enema wash, then the general wash, you'll need NO TOILET PAPER at all! Test yourself with wipes, it'll amaze and spoil the crap right out of you and that's the point, right? 5Very disappointing I bought this unit 3 months ago and based on the reviews I had high hopes. I suffer from haemorrhoids and thought this might give me some relief by removing the need to use toilet paper and the associated aggravation that causes. In reality the jets from the bidet seat are far worse than toilet paper at aggravating them and they do not do a good enough job of cleaning to negate the need for toilet paper use. The dryer is worthless too. The seat cover is not substantial enough to sit on or even to rest ones foot on whilst drying ones leg and foot after taking a shower.Perhaps this works for some people but my experience is that it an expensive gimmick that simply does not work. 2We LOVE this bidet! This is the second BB-1000 I've purchased. The first one was about 4 years old and was pretty worn out. The unit is easy to install and works great. It is comfortable to use and easy to adjust and operate from the remote. We will never be without one of these! My only comment on installing is this: The 1st unit purchased had a nylon washer that was installed between the rubber "wedge" washer and the nylon nut. This allowed you to tighten the nut easily since the nut glides easily on the washer. The new unit did not come with the washer so I installed it without the washer. I could not get the seat tight enough to keep it from twisting on the bowl. When I put the washers from the old unit in between the nut and wedge, it tightened up easily and securely. It should be noted that the toilet I was installing on is a smooth side type so the access to tighten the nuts holding the seat is VERY limited. On a regular toilet, it may not be a problem.Lastly, I recommend using the Bio-Bidet Water Purifier Filter Bio Bidet CF100 Electronic Bidet Water Filter with the bidet. It seems like it should help the unit last longer. I got 3 of these filters with my 1st purchase of the BB-1000 so I still had one left.We LOVE this bidet! 4Almost 6 years use and feedback on this bidet. I've had 2 of these installed in my home for about 6 years. To give you some feedback how long they last. The first one broke at around year 4 the second around year 6. The first one I mailed back to Biobidet and for $150 they rebuilt the pump parts etc and its been working great ever since. The 2nd one the toilet seat actually cracked at the hinge from normal use, then a few months later the pump stopped working. I paid $499 for both of them 6 years ago. Since I see them on Amazon for $379 now I grabbed a new one instead of sending the broken one back for repairs.Yes I bought another one even with so many other bidets out now. I could easily afford a more expensive one but after reading all the reviews on the more expensive ones, even premium models from Biobidet, this particular model the BB-1000 has good pressure for the enema water stream. It's the enema water stream that is the ultimate in personal hygiene. There are some things I don't like about this bidet but the water pressure on the enema function gets the job done! My wife and I agree we would never want to live with a bidet that doesn't have a good enema function.CONS: Seat changes color and looks cheap and old.Ugly off white colorRechargeable batteries don't work in the remote, only normal AA's do.Starts breaking after 4 years of normal use.Expensive to send in for repairsPros: Water pressure for enema function is strong enough to get the job doneSeat heater and water heater work goodRemote controlYes both of my biobidets broke, but even if I get 4 years out of it, then it's worth the price. I don't care for the off white color and faded look as it matches nothing in my remodeled bathrooms but until I can find a bidet that looks nice and has a powerful enema water stream I will stick with this one just because the water pressure works good for the first 4 years.Update: My bidet broke again, the one that had already been rebuilt 3.5 years ago. This time its electrical and kept triggering the GFI. I called BioBidet they said "at least" $185 to fix it, maybe more. They also said these have a 3 year warranty and roughly 3 year life span. I decided to trash this one and just buy a new one. Found a damaged box one here on Amazon for $325. I see prices fluctuate a lot here on Amazon for this model so be patient.I did notice some changes with the newer BB-1000 I received. The seats are all white now, not off white. Also the remote has changed appearance and the enema function is now called Vortex. I calculated I got 8.5 years out of this one having it rebuilt once for $150. Until a manufacturer makes a model with a strong enema function I will continue to buy this one even if it breaks every 4 to 5 years. 4A Spa For Your Bottom As so many others have mentioned, these electrically operated bidets can be among the most pleasant, hygienic and gratifying purchases you may ever make. Others have addressed the basic issues but, for me, the problem was in choosing the right unit. I wanted to compare this Brondell S1000 unit and the similar Bio Bidet BB-1000. Both are excellent and I don't believe you would be unhappy with either unit. There are some differences and neither is "perfect."1. Power and versatility of wash: Bio wins with a huge array of options including an enema function and power enough to eject you from the toilet if you wish. However, Brondell has a gentler, variable-width main spray.2. Warm water: Brondell wins with endless warm (not hot) water. Bio runs out of heat in seconds. In a cold climate this could be a serious shortcoming and Bio needs to re-engineer this with a continuous heater.3. Deodorizer: Bio wins with automatic start when you sit down and more power with variable fan speed.4. Remote control: Brondell's is smaller (about the size of a small TV remote) while Bio's is twice the size. Both are pretty clear.5. Run time: Brondell runs for two minutes with ability to add more time, while Bio's stops after a minute and must be restarted. Manufacturers should make the run time programmable.6. Installation: Brondell (by a bit). It has a far better water connection that connects at the toilet tank connection while Bio makes you run two lines from the angle stop. Not terrible but the Brondell allows a much neater connection. And you can use one of the "auto shutoff" water lines from the wall to the toilet adapter in case either the toilet or bidet supply lines should rupture. That is my comparison after having used both for a while. If you combined the best features of both units you would probably have the perfect bidet. I know it's a bit silly to talk about toilet seat software but both units could use more programmability in the remotes. Brondell needs more power options and a better auto-start deodorizer while the Bio needs a much better hot water heater and connection adapter.I do recommend you buy a bidet seat. You may kick yourself (in your very clean butt) for not having done so years ago. 4She thinks its a waste of money I have had so many folks ask why in the heck I bought this. My wife included. She thinks its a waste of money. But if you are over weight and getting a little old. Not as mobile and agile as you used to be. Some places are just hard to reach. I like my bum clean. This thing does the job. Washes in the right area with warm water. Dries the same area with heated air. Plus the seat is heated. That freaks some ladies out. They get the feeling some one just got off the pot and it's still warm. Just tell them to get over it. Plus no one likes it the 1st time they use it. Use it 4 or 5 times and you will buy one. 5
