Not the "BEST" Unfortunately the main light stopped working correctly after only about 5 minutes of use. It was incredibly bright for those 5 minutes, but then it would flicker and then go dead. The red lights worked perfectly fine, but those are fairly useless. There's lots of brands out there, at good prices, I just got the lemon I think. 1Great for jogging, camping or sailing! I bought this for a sailing trip in 2017 and here I am almost two years later running it on the same batteries! I am catching up on my backlog of Amazon reviews and this by far one of the best purchases I made! Camping and emergencies require this in your kit! Strong batteries and LEDS are bright. The switchable modes are great too because the flashing red works for riding a bike or running at night and the headlamp helps you see or read in bed. I have also taped this on the ceiling for a temporary lamp! So useful and cheap! Buy six! 5Good initially, doesn t hold up in the long run Initially, this head lamp was awesome. I use for running in early mornings and wear it just under my bust. It was easy to put on (Espn once I modified the strap). The main down falls initially was that the hinge didn t hold in it straight and the band tended to come off the light when pulled tight (both problems fixed with masking tape). After using for about a month Or so, the light seemed much dimmer. I changed the batteries and seemed to fix it but then after a week to 2, the light seemed dimmer again. Disappointed that it didn t stay bright. I have to purchase a new one bc I can barely see the sidewalk with the bright setting anymore. Still looking for the perfect running light. 2Great for the lumens amount n price Kept this on my wish list, n when the price dropped to $6.99, I jumped on it. Bought one n it's for my 10 yr old son. Cheap enough should he break it, not so bad lol works fine for the amount of lumens...if u want something really really bright n can penetrate the dark for long distance, then this is NOT the headlamp for u. Installed batteries with lots of dielectric grease due to lots of problems in the past with battery terminal corrosion (trust me- just do it). I've been using them for about a year and finally had one fail- the white LED stopped working but the red ones still worked. That's really as long as I expect them to last around here as they take heavy abuse from my family and I ie. lots of dropping them, stretched out elastic because we all have different size heads, and leaving them out in the rain sometimes. The other 4 are working great.I have found that these lights with the single high output LED have MUCH BETTER light output than the kinds with several low output LED's. They shine bright and project light plenty far- probably 100'. Battery life is great for 3 AAA batteries, cheap batteries don't last very long obviously and better batteries last long enough. I also like that they stay real bright throughout the batteries life, then dim fairly quickly when the batteries are toast. Otherwise I would be replacing batteries more often if they started to dim at say 50%. 5Good headlamp at great price. I ordered three different headlamps at the same time. For the price, this one was the best deal.This headlamp has a plastic case with a hinge that allows the lamp to be positioned various ways for different uses. It doesn't appear to be exceptionally sturdy, but at least I've used this lamp a couple of times, and it hasn't broken yet.The bright light is adequate for navigating from the door to the compost heap after dark in a rural area. The dim light would be OK for this, too. I also used the bright light as task lighting for bicycle maintenance in a dimly lit garage. The red light would be good for getting out of a tent without waking other occupants. As for the red strobe, I hope my grandkids never find this lamp and discover that setting. I can't imagine why anyone would ever use it, unless they wanted to give everyone present a migraine.The "Shining Buddy LED Headlamp" is the same headlamp, with a white body and a different headband. Both headbands are adjustable, but the headband on the "Shining Buddy" is longer, and I had to finagle part of the band up under the lamp to make it tight enough. This one (the "Best") fits my head perfectly.I tried both lamps on all settings, side by side in a dark garage at night. Both lamps produce the same light in each of the 4 settings. Both are easy to operate, and easy to open so that I can reverse a battery to prevent accidentally turning it on in my backpack.The "Best" is $9.99, and the "Shining Buddy" is $12.97. It's kind of nice to have two different appearing ones (one mine, the other my husband's, or one in the camper, one in the junk drawer), but I wouldn't pay the extra $3 again. The third headlamp was also priced at $9.97. It was similar, but very cheaply made. It was so flimsy, it broke before I had a chance to put it on. I sent that one back for a refund. Get the "Best," and forget the rest. 5For years I've been holding a flashlight between my teeth...not anymore! I got this so I wouldn't have to hold a flashlight between my teeth when I trim my dog's nails. Imagine - squirmy dog who hates nail trimming, nail trimmer, flashlight, treats, and I couldn't tell my dog to calm down while I'm doing it because I have the dumb flashlight in my mouth...let's just day it was chaotic. Nail trims go much easier now because: 1. I can see so much better (this light is high power!) and 2. I can tell him to settle and he calms down easier. Its also great for fixing stuff around the house because you have a free hand! Do I look like a dork? Yes. But I'm a dork getting stuff done, so who cares! 5Great, economical head lamp This is a nicely priced, basic headlamp that is great for camping, engine work, crawl space, or any time you need to light up a dim area and also keep your hands free. Not sure about the water proofing, but it has a rubber seal around the battery compartment, so the manufacturer is at least making an attempt. It survived being in the rain on a camp-out, but I wouldn't trust it being totally submerged. I like the red lamp feature, as the red light is a lot more forgiving on your night vision when you don't need the brighter white light. The only knock I have on it is the flashing red light feature, which, in my opinion, is pretty useless. The on/off button cycles through the modes, which is a little bit of a pain. I would have preferred a selector switch to immediately turn the mode you want on and off, but it's not that big a deal. 4Fantastic little light is bright and incredibly useful! This light is bright when you need it, able to be dimmed to a more reasonable level for pitch black, and the red light feature is a cool addition! It fits nicely around the head and is very comfortable to wear for an extended period of time. I use this primarily when I'm bringing firewood inside for the night but it's also come in very handy while taking out the trash cans.The light is so useful, I ordered another for my dad for his nighttime grilling! The adjustable angle is probably the best feature and angles exactly where you need the light for whatever task is at hand. Great purchase and a great value! 5Great for the price. I really like this product overall. For the price, you can't really beat it. However, the one thing that has been annoying for me is that the light comes off of the band a little too easily. I know you may want to take the light off the band at some points because you'd want to use it more like a flashlight instead of a headlamp. I use it a lot when I'm bicycling at night and a few times as I'm putting it over my head the lamp will detach. I then have to feel around in the dark for where it went. 4
