Belkin Stands Behind This ProductMy 5 year old LG 55 inch TV and receiver got fried due apparently due to a power surge. I was so bummed, until I checked and discovered they were both plugged into a Belkin powerstrip/surge protector at the time. After submitting a claim to Belkin and them testing the powerstrip they determined their strip was at fault and they cut me a check for the depreciated value of the TV and receiver. As a result of Belkin standing behind their product I've replaced every powerstrip/surge protector in my house with a Belkin. Just be sure to take a photo of your receipts, or put a copy in the cloud so you can find it if needed. Also, something I learned is that even though there may be a "Lifetime" warranty on a surge protector, the "Lifetime" is the expected lifetime of the product which is not forever, but only 4 or 5 years. So just be sure to read the fine print and replace the strips when they are out of date...Can't say enough good things about Belkin and how they stood behind their product. Too bad most other companies don't do the same.5Works Well And Nicely Designed.......... See Photos~Delivered as pictured and described. I was a bit concerned because of the super low price, thinking maybe it was a discontinued model due to problems but we've had good experiences with Belkin products so I went with this one...When facing it plugged into the outlet, the cord does lean right as advertised. Length is also correct. True white, not an almond color, so it looks nice with white outlet and carpet where visible. The switch is effectively placed on the end where the cord comes out so it's harder to accidentally switch off. Also it lights up on top to indicate green for protected or red for not grounded. Also designed for a phone line on the opposite end but we haven't had use for that where we are using this surge protector. Will update this review should we utilize that feature or have any issues.Smart design at a great price. Uploading photos so you can get a closer look. Smile. Hope this is helpful!5This has saved our organization thousands since purchase. I wouldn't plug anything in without these anymore. Some of the buildings we operate in are substandard, to put it nicely. Without these cords our equipment would fry pretty quickly. We have seen lower rated stips melt due to the poor power systems. These will protect your tools and electronics from harm when working in less than preferable conditions.5Belkin Surge Protector I saw that some reviews stated that they had problems with the plugs. I had no problems at all. The surge power plug went nicely into the wall outlet with normal resistance. I closed off the multiple outlets on the surge strip by using a flat blade screwdriver, sliding the covers over each individual outlet that I wouldn't be using to keep dust out of the main body. When I plugged in the 2 items I wanted to protect, they had proper, normal slight resistance going into the surge body, so I knew they were good. I chose Belkin because the name is famous for fine electrical equipment. Now I can sleep well at night knowing that I couldn't have done any better. 5Really nice product from an equally nice company.Really nice product from an equally nice company.Note: I do not have PRIME since Amazon.com does NOT stand behind their BS mark-up service and have become WORSE since they started pushing it so much at delivering non PRIME items. My experience with Belkin has always been Way Over the Top good. So I recommend any product in general. Their customer service namely and their delivery, packaging is STELLAR.This product is good in that it is robust, the white does not easily scratch (matte type), and the product seems to be well designed overall. The LED's are not obnoxious at all. The wire is thick, robust, but has enough travel to be useful.Only small enhancement would be to put the switch up top instead of at the end of the power strip to provide more options. And maybe add a USB port.5Highly discourage anyone from buyingI would highly advise anyone thinking of purchasing this product, to think again. I have enclosed a picture of what this product did in our home. Luckily, we smelled it and eventually found that it had burned a hole completely through the carpet. It was plugged in but not on. There was only one item plugged into it and that was a record play.er Thank goodness, it did not burn our home down.1failed within a few months, electrical hazardI bought two of these 3 months ago. A few days ago one of them began causing the lamps plugged into them to burn out bulbs. After experimenting with different bulbs and different lamps, same problem. It's not the wiring on the lamps, not the batch of bulbs. The surge protector is the only other variable, must be faulty. I notice that at least one other reviewer notes similar problems.1Perfect!I somehow didn't notice it had phone jacks on the end of it before I ordered, but this was the only/cheapest option I could find that had a flat plug, and a 6 foot cord, and was a surge protector, AND had indicator lights for protection at least (this additonally has a light for ungrounded).I feel like, what's the point in having a surge protector if it can't tell you whether it's protecting you or not?I needed the flat plug to fit behind a door that remains open fully and has my outlet behind it as a result. Perfect.I don't and probably will never have a use for the phone jacks. It came with a sticker over them which I will just leave for now. But this fit the bill of all other criteria. I guess the 5th criteria was a "known brand" - I didn't want some cheap "travel surge protector" by an unknown company. Belkin, Tripp Lite, APC...don't risk your expensive electronics. I also got a few of the Amazon Basics ones to put around the house and replace the power taps we were using. But they don't have flat plugs.5It caught on fireI purchased two of these surge protectors and one worked great and the other caught on fire as soon as it was plugged in. I had an electrician check it out and he said that there were two wires inside that were touching that made it do that. I am hoping this was just a rare thing and that they check their products after production now. They gave me a refund for it and I shipped it back so they can learn from it.1Weird plug.Four stars because it has a funny plug. Five stars if they had made the plug normal. But this one goes to the right. Which means if your setup is all to the left, the cord goes right and then comes out away from the wall very far so it can curve stiffly to the left. So you can't line it against the wall and tuck it out the way. You know how these thick cords are when they aren't going in the direction they want to be and thats just when they are twisted out of shape. This is -made- to go to the right. It doesn't go straight down. I'm sorry but not everyone sets up on the right of an outlet. So that caused an issue but otherwise the surge protector works. I got it just in time for a mass of Florida storms. It saved my computer and actually worked afterward. It has enough outlets on it with a space for a large plug on one end and a small box plug on the other end. Which is exactly what I needed. For now I'm dealing with the annoying plug.4Sturdy, works okay but tight layout and non-illuminating hidden switch Unit appears well enough manufactured but outlets spaced too close to each other to accept wide variety of devices such as USB chargers or even slim transformers, there's only a single dedicated outlet for such. Also wish the power/reset switch were illuminated and resided on the same square area as the LED status indicators, rather than hidden on corded end of the strip. Was the only model available in white with more than nominal protection and the right length power cord for my use or probably would have purchased something else. Luckily for me I shouldn't have to be plugging in more than three or four devices where I stationed this, but the limited accommodation would be a problem in busier areas of the premises. 4Deceptive ProductWhat's inside the box is NOT what is pictured on the box! It Belkin Power Strip in the box has only one phone jack input and one phone jack output. The Box picture shows Two Phone Outputs! Further, the entire unit itself doesn't even resemble what is pictured on the physical box (and website). Also, I have three Belkin power strips, and NONE of them state the Jewells rating protection on the power strip itself! That actual "Protection" info is only printed on the box, which doesn't even represent accurately what is inside the box! This is the last last Belkin product I ever purchase.1
