Customer Reviews

Good water saver I can tell it's a good water saver in the shower on the lowest setting of 1.5gpm. It kinda cyclone sprays out of the middle to a heavy mist. It feels ok washing hair since your head is close to the shower head but as for body to feet it pretty light apart but it's an adjustment and it'll work just fine for us. My showers usually last about 10-15 minutes and my wife is aroun 25-40 minutes so it will save there but she likes the 3 option where it comes out like a normal shower spray at 2.0gpm. But one thing I noticed is that it goes back automatically to the lowest setting when you turn shower off so if you don't like the 1.5 gpm you'll have to change it for every time you get in the shower. But then it kinda forces you to like that option but it's ok it saves you money. 4High pressure + lower water use? YES! Purchased for improvement in water savings and have not been disappointed. A breeze to install, it also looks more modern than the older shower head we had before. It is a high quality product with good parts - nothing felt cheap or under-designed when I was installing, and the lever to change shower pressure is sturdy but easy to move with one hand while wet in the shower. But by far the best thing about this shower head is - the water pressure is AMAZING. Night and day difference between our older head and this one. The default setting which saves the most water is extremely powerful, and if you really want something more substantial, either of the other two settings offer higher pressure. 5Very good design - 3 month update I wanted to add some comments after using this for a few months.First, I have to disagree with reviews that say you need great water pressure for this showerhead. I'm in the habit of setting the water flow very low, and this showerhead performs perfectly. It also works perfectly without setting the water so low.The default, low flow setting is perfectly adequate, and would be acceptable if it were the only setting. I use that setting almost all the time. The other two settings are nice additions, and have specific uses for me.The combination setting feels like a heavier flood of water, and I like to use it when I first get into the shower if I'm chilly on a cool morning. The third setting looks like a traditional shower, but there is some force behind the jets of water. I use it to rinse off before getting out of the shower. The only criticism I have is that it's a large, tall showerhead. It hangs down farther from the pipe than any typical showerhead, so that I can't really stand under it, and I've bumped my head on it several times. I'm currently thinking about getting an "S" arm to raise it up a bit. 5Hot showers again! About a month after moving into our new house, our water heater died, so we replaced it with the same size. We then realized that it was probably not as big as we should have bought. I like to take long showers and was constantly running out of hot water when I was partially done. After researching new shower heads since buying a new water heater and installing it was not in our budget, we found this shower head. This shower head was easy to install and has made a world of difference, I forgot how insufficient our water heater was until I sat down to write this review. There are three different setting, with the standard one using the least amount of water pressure. I hardly ever have to turn up the pressure and I have thick hair that soaks up shampoo and conditioner and I never have a problem getting it all out. The shower head has allowed me to resume my long showers without fear of running out of water. We used to have to plan our showers around the dishwasher and doing laundry, because there wasn't enough hot water to go around. I honestly forget that this is a water saving shower head. 5Has met my expectations Previously, I made the mistake of purchasing one of those cheapo 1.6 gpm Glacier Bay shower heads at Home Depot to replace a 2.5 gmp Moen showerhead that looks similar to this American Standard unit . The cheap head did conserve water but the the water basically came out like a hard mist with a wild pattern and the whole shower experience was sub-par. After researching a few here on Amazon, I came across this puppy. I am generally a fan of American Standard because their products for me have always been high quality and good performers. We installed two new American Standard toilets during a hour refurb a few years ago and they work like new. This American Standard shower head exudes high quality construction. It solidly built and the selection lever does not feel cheap in any way whatsoever. I am more than content with the Eco default setting which is 1.6 gpm. It delivers a very soothing shower, with more than enough coverage. The other two settings are great as well, but I don't see much of an advantage over them than the Eco settings and they waste much more water. Some other members of the household originally were switching to the other settings but now the say they usually leave it on Eco because they have become accustomed to the spray, it feels good, and they feel good because they are saving me money and saving the environment a bit. Plus hot water lasts so the next person can enjoy a warm shower as well. What's great is that American Standard managed to design a mechanism which allows the head to automatically return to the default Eco setting after the water is turned off. This means that the next user has to manually switch it to a less efficient setting.I only rated 4 stars because I am just not fully convinced this head actually sprays 1.6 gallons per minute. The water build up on the shower floor is significantly more than with the cheap 1.6 gpm showerhead from Home Depot. I am going to have to test it with a good old fashioned marked bucket. Plus, the spray is just a tad bit wild on Eco mode. It does a great job controlling the spray, but I have noticed that if you turn the shower on and leave the shower door open for a minute, water droplets will accumulate on the bathroom floor. This does not happen on the less efficient modes because the spray is more directed through the surrounding nozzles. If it is 1.6 gpm, then American Standard did a fantastic job squeezing performance out of this showerhead without compromising the "feel" of the water spray. 4Fine value showerhead, but not I bought this looking for a reasonable replacement shower head. It's fine, but the overwhelmingly positive reviews left me a bit let down. Even recognizing this is a water-saver, the flow still feels less than other shower heads when on the "full" setting. The water saving setting never feels that it gets you fully wet, it might be nice for a more "spa" experience, but I found it unable to really effectively wash hair or clean myself. The auto-return feature (which was clearly documented, by the way) becomes a bit of a pain then, because you need to switch it for every shower. It's nice if you're warming up water before getting in to save some water, but since I'm never using that setting it's more of an annoyance than anything else. The install was easy, and the full spray is okay for a cheap shower head, but that's about it. I expect we'll spend more money and get a shower head that provides a bit better more full feel to its spray in the future. 3Love it This shower head just happened to pop up on my Daily Deal list when I was in the market for a new one. I've bought a few American Standard plumbing products before, and like their stuff, and the reviews on this shower head were pretty good, so I ordered it.If I had one complaint, it would be the size. The bottom of this thing is almost 6" in diameter, which is CLEARLY says in the description, but I didn't read it, so it's completely my fault for not knowing. Bottom line, make sure to read the small print, to make sure you won't need to move anything around to get this monster mounted.Even with the size, this shower head is lighter than the heavy piece of metal that came with my American Standard shower kit, so that was nice. And, as should be with this type of product, you simply screw it on, and go. If you use thread sealer (like you should), you can easily screw this on hand-tight and have no leaking issues.Of the 3 modes, it always defaults to the low-flow mode when the water pressure is off, you need to have it running to be able to change to the other 2 modes. Cool idea, in my opinion. Why use more water when you're warming up your shower? You shouldn't.The "low flow" mode works perfectly fine, in my opinion, plenty of water pressure and flow. The other 2 modes are good for a wider spread, but for my money, the default setting is perfect.Overall, a good shower head, and a good price. 5Not perfect I bought this as my water bills have been pretty high recently. The first thing to note is that it is very large. The diameter of the front face is 5.5", my last shower head was probably half as wide.Operation:It has three settings, the first of which saves the most water apparently. It will also default to this position; every time you turn the water off, a spring rotates the selection back to the most water saving position. The handles on the dial allow it to be easily rotated to select the different settings, which is nice. I've had showerheads in the past that you have to fight with to get them to switch positions. The highest saving position gives a nice stream of water, but I notice that the water cools down a bit coming out of the showerhead on this setting (not surprising, as it's mixed with air in order to give decent water pressure). The middle setting combines the spray and stream settings, which results in low pressure as a lot more holes are open on the shower head. My favorite setting is the stream setting, which comes out feeling warm with high pressure. Sadly, this setting doesn't save as much water. The last thing to note is that this showerhead drips when on the water-saving setting. This is frustrating, as I know that I'm not getting as good of pressure as I could, as some of the water is drizzling out of the head rather than spraying out and hitting me.I'm not sure I'd get this again. It's a bit bulky, and I find myself not using the most saving setting on there as that setting drips, and requires me to set the heat higher which means I'm saving water at the cost of electricity. 3Beyond Excellent Product! Excellent Packaging! Speedy Ship Time! First off, this product met my expectations and then some! The unique ability to automatically switch back to the 1st, primary water-saving method after shutting off the water is uncanny! Really saves me a ton of time and adds a good level of convenience for me.Secondly, not only does this save a ton of water, but it allows us to have 6+ people in the house and every one of us gets Hot Water back-to-back on a 28 Gallon Water Heater!Lastly, the 3-Tiered Choice for receiving water really helps. I primarily use the 1st option to save water, but sometimes I'll turn up the heat and turn it to the last option - the full pressure option! It feels like a really good massage (without the cost or complaints) and after a long day at work it hits the spot!I'd definitely recommend buying this! Easy-to-Install, but if you use an Extension Shower Attachment, you might need to remove it in order for this to work, because this product requires Pressure in order to save water and work properly (literally, it trickles out if you don't have enough pressure going to it). And, honestly, for the cost, this was a dang good deal! Saves me money and prevents cold showers when lots of family is over! 5I love it so much I first bought this product (it may have only been a Flowise 2) in 2011. I love it so much, I put one in every shower in my house. My house was built in the 1950s and probably still had the original shower heads. My water bill dropped dramatically. I loved this product so much when I recently bought a new house, I ordered the Flowise 3 for every shower in my new house.I don't know how this produced offers such a low flow rate, but still offers incredible pressure. The full spray is 2.0 gpm, which is still lower than most "low flow" shower heads (which are typically 2.5gpm). I actually prefer the lowest setting at 1.5 gpm. My wife will switch to 2.0 to rinse her hair, but otherwise the lowest setting is enjoyable. The full stream is what you expect out of any shower head, low flow or not. The lowest setting is somewhat more of a mist, but it has great pressure and flow. For a guy, it's more than sufficient to rinse. 5
