Customer Reviews

works great. I got the 18" American standard shower arm ... works great. I got the 18" American standard shower arm extension and some other 1/2" galvanized fittings to get the right height and to get it centered in my 34" x 48" shower. 5Leaks at the seam This shower head was put in a room that is not used a lot, A guest noticed a leak in the shower head. At the seam where the top and bottom connect there was water coming out. After reading reviews, leaks are not uncommon with this shower head. Of course, the return period is past, so I guess we just lose out on the $, Too bad. I had aready ordered another one to replace before I returned the first one so that I could have my plumber replace as he removed the original. Never would have re-ordered had I known I could not return. Too bad because we like the look! Here's hoping this one doesn't leak as well. 2You'll want to stay in the shower a lot longer with this shower head Great shower head! I did as one reviewer recommended and drilled out the flow restrictor and it is awesome. Just the right amount of gentle and thorough rinse. 5Lovely and large. This is the best rain shower head. Love the easy clean feature and the shape. Some of the rain shower heads are square and this on is round, which I appreciate. 5buy at your own risk. after just a month of use it is spraying water everywhere but down. It is coming mostly from the seam where the domed part meets the nozzles. 1Five Stars Haven't installed but it looks beautiful and of very good quality. Both plumber and husband are impressed, too 5Great Rain Head after Mods First, you need to realize this is not your typical high pressure showerhead. It is a rain head. By definition, this means you will get a soft deluge (especially if you modify it). Because of the large diameter of this head, you get a very nice, large pattern but, as others noted, this head is about gentle rain and so you do not get a lot of force. Modify it properly and you will get huge, drenching volume. As others noted, you can improve this head if you are handy with a drill. First, disassemble the stem (it can be removed with a large wrench or channel lock). Once disassembled, you can drill out the central hole in the stem. Before drilling, I clamped mine in a vice for stability and safety drilling. This will also push out the flow restrictor from the back. I suggest you remove the small washer before drilling so as not to damage it. Don't forget to reinstall it later. You should then also drill out the two holes in the head itself. I used 3/16 for both operations but, as noted previously, you could use 5/16" for the stem and 1/4" for the two head holes. I may go back and drill them out larger. It will take you 15-20 minutes, tops. After these mods, you will maximize the flow.Update: Drilled out the stem and head holes to 5/16" and " respectively. Marked improvement in flow rate and pressure. Now it's perfect 5Product Leaks The product worked good for about 8 weeks before it started to leak from the frame. Also water was jetting out horizontally from about 3 ports. 2Seems like overzealous cleaning could result in these being pushed up ... First one shipped had the little rubber emitters pushed up into the shower head...couldn't see any way of separating the unit to put them back in place. Seems like overzealous cleaning could result in these being pushed up making the shower head unusable. Amazon sent a replacement that arrived in excellent condition.Product update 4/9/2015 - Started out great. We have high water pressure, and the flow was evenly spread out, abundant, and great to be under. About 5-months into using it, water began to stream out of the seam between the top (the bottom of the "dome") and the bottom (the part that has all the emitters). Over the next 2-months the stream got worse and now 25% of the water comes out the seam. Unfortunately, I'm outside the return window for this product. I'll attempt a silicone caulking seal over the weekend.5/5/2015 update - The leak around the perimeter was caused by the nozzles being partially clogged with minerals (it was hard to see from below). After gentle cleaning, with a fingernail on the rubber emitter, the shower head is returned to fully functional with no leaks from the perimeter. I think a periodic gentle brushing of the emitters with the water turned on will keep it working like new. I like it again. 3Risky Purchase..... Purchased and it worked for one shower. Next trip to the farmhouse a few months later, the shower head leaks at the seam connecting the top to the bottom. Had to throw it away, and the seller informed me I waited to long to return - although it was barely used. Went to Lowes and purchased a cheap rain head for under $30 that works great, and does not leak. I've done home repair my whole life so not an installation issue - took 2 minutes to install. 1
