Customer Reviews

Solved my Bluetooth signal jittersHasn't amped up the signal any more than the previous antenna did, but since installation on my Fenvi FV-T919 card, I no longer have the mouse jitters or dead spots across my workstation as I did before.Yeah, it's an off-label use. Yeah, it's meant for Wi-Fi, but RP-SMA is still RP-SMA and 2.4GHz is 2.4GHz.$11 for stability and sanity is fair price. Just wish there was more signal boost as promised.4Definitely a noticeable improvementInstalled one of these on my 3DR Solo controller, while leaving the other omni antenna in place. Since these Alfa antennas are more directional, it made sense to me to keep one antenna that's less directional on the controller. Of course there's still the attenuation at the end of the stock antennas. As with any directional antenna, you just need to keep the antenna oriented so that the higher gain direction is pointed roughly toward the quad when the aircraft is out several hundred feet and beyond. The omni antenna helps to mitigate this somewhat. There was definitely some noticeable improvement in range using the Alfa: I haven't tried flying out until signal loss, but I can now maintain a solid 3-bar connection at 1,500 feet, which is about as far as I like to fly. There are tests that folks have run that you can find out on YouTube, and these results seem consistent.4Not good.Looks fine but doesn t perform good. Same as dipole antenna. Got it today, did range check. Very disappointed. It s a little worse than my dipole antenna. Probably going to return it. I have no use for it because it s worse than anything I have.1Best antenna for my controller!Great!!!! This is the first 2.4GHz flat panel antenna I have come across so I thought I would try it and what a difference it has made in my confidence of flying without losing control of the drone. I generally don't push the distance but can say this one has allowed me to go 600 meters/2000 feet with full control over the drone. My favorite out of all the antennas thus far! I used this on both my standard and advanced controllers for my Hubsan H501S.Click "yes" if you found my review helpful and I highly recommend this item. Thanks!5Great for drone. These antennas work out great for increasing RC range . Threw one of these on my transmitter. nothing to go crazy over. But they will increase your range!4This works great for meThis works great for me. I am using a GL.iNet GL-AR150-ext to rebroadcast an Xfinity hotspot from a business location to a residence across a highway and railroad tracks. The 2db omni in the GL wasn't coming close to cutting it. a 9db omni was giving me what I wanted, but lots of interference, and I couldn't tell where the AP I wanted was. This let me zero it in, and lock it into place in the window. My PC gets 25mb down and 10 mb up with ~72 MCS RX and 52 TX. The GL lets me clone my authenticticaed MAC and serve the rest of the house. It's wonderful.5Made a real difference with my WIFI Extender.Replaced only one antenna on a Netgear n300 wifi extender (WN3000RP) with this Alpha panel antenna. Works well. Now the extender concentrates signal in one direction for longer range pickup, and also has an omni antenna for local wifi connection. The Netgear is being used to pick up an Optimum hot spot 1 mile away (sparse housing, mostly woods) and distribute it in the house. Without the Alfa antenna, disconnects were so frequent that the link didn't work for more than 15 minutes, but now can stream Netflix for an entire movie with no problem. Without this antenna, the Netgear extender always displayed a fair or weak signal (orange or red LED) but now always shows a strong signal (green led). It appears that the side with the word "Alfa" is the send/receive side. This antenna is very popular with RC airplane and helicopter enthusiasts and they always mount it on their controllers with the lettering facing the airplane.Note: Modifications to the Netgear extender were needed to install an RP-SMA pigtail connector because it does not come with removable antennas.Update:Tested this on my desktop PC with a internal WIFI card by Gigabyte. The router in the next room, about 40 feet away with a wall full of bookcases in between. Connecting only to the 2.4Ghz router signal, using two 6dBi dipole dual band antennas, the signal strength was 66% and -60dBm with a speed test average of 70/35 Mbps down/up on a 100/35Mbps internet service. REPLACING ONLY ONE of the two dipole antennas with the Alpha antenna (I only have one) and facing the side with the "ALFA" print facing the router, the signal strength registers 99%, -40dBm with a speed test average of 78/35Mbps. So as you can see, there is over a 10% increase in download speed and the signal strength has increased by 50% and -20 dBi. Amazing for only using one antenna.Tests with the antenna facing backwards (text away from router) showed a drop in performance. There is some back side leakage, so the farther away from the router the antenna is, the more pronounced the effect of using it backwards will be.Compare those 2.4Ghz tests with using the same two dual band 6Dbi dipole antennas on the 5Ghz band and the speed tests are 115Mbps down, 35 to 40 Mbps up.To do your own testing, download freeware program "vistumbler" by Andrew Calcutt. It will list all wifi's in the area and their % and dBm ratings, as well as the mac addy, channel, authentication, and encryption. Very useful for testing antennas. As you can see,5Improved my security camera signal, but wish it swiveled 360I can difinitively say it did improve signal strength, but only on the correct side of the antenna. The logo side is definitely the side with higher gain, so point that towards where you need improved signal. The issue I have with this is that the logo side is limited in where it can point. It cannot swivel 360. So I ended up having to basically break the antenna a bit to make it swivel to where I needed it.In my images you can see the box specs with some annotation by me. The two signal strength pictures show logo away vs logo pointing at the router. Logo pointed at the router was clearly best, it improved the signal of my router from 74% rssi (logo away was same signal strength as Omni) to 94% rssi.4Didn t materially increase strength over Omni I bought this hoping for a cheap improvement to an Omni whip antenna (usually 3-5 dbi) , but this sadly has about the same performance despite in theory having a directional advantage . I m not sure why it was worse , but I couldn t get a great improvement . Returned 3Alfa- M04 beats a dipole anyday. It extends your range considerably over a dipole. The Alfa - M04 antenna is a great antenna replacing the stock dipole on my H901A. So fat I have only flown out to just over 1000 meters and control was rock steady. It will easily allow flight past 3000 meters for a pilot who is a lot better FPV flying than I am.4Better than I thought.I use it control my Hubsan H501ss Standard controller. Great control at long distance, I love it,5Works great, price unbeatable Perfect for a small USB 802.11 adapter and so cheap I can buy several for my home router to replace omni antennae. Looked at can-tennae but this is enough for a home. 5
