Works perfectly with Nvidia Shield TVOk. The original Nvidia Shield TV remote was never really reliable. Lost pairing every now and then. Constantly ran out of battery. Now 3 years later it's completely dead.I was coping with Google's terrible Android TV Remote app for a while. What a piece of junk. But a Nvidia Shield TV replacement remote was simply too expensive. Then I found this guy, the G20S. People said that even the voice input worked. I was sceptical, but it was cheap enough to just try.Boy was I surprised when I got it. Sure, it's not a sleek as the original. It's bulkier and completely made of plastic. But it feels well made, high quality. Good click points and a nice weight. Actually, it feels better in the hand than the original. It does not pair with Bluetooth and does not come with software updates, but with the tiny USB dongle it was plug and play and maybe much easier to set up than the original. Here comes the really big deal: not only does the voice control work flawlessly. It has dedicated volume buttons (not this finicky touch bar). And it has a menu key that works well with Kodi. I didn't see much much use for the air mouse, but it's a nice feature that works with the Shield TV.Completely blown away by the value here. Super happy with the purchase. Just ordered a 2nd one for my brother. :)5The IR portion of the remote works flawless at least with my 2012 LG TV and 2012 Samsung both non smart TVs. Teaching the buttons wasn't hard and it ...This review is base on what the product does compare to what the description says it does. The IR portion of the remote works flawless at least with my 2012 LG TV and 2012 Samsung both non smart TVs. Teaching the buttons wasn't hard and it took me maybe about 5mins to do it.I have a Nexus player that I'm using it with and it works perfect. Home, back, play/pause and of course the directional buttons. I was surprised the mic work when using the mic icon on the Nexus player. The cursor also works but I'm not a big fan and I wish I can deactivated permanent but I can't.This remote does exactly what the description says I just wish there was couple changes. It doesnt have backlight which is nice to have since you have to hit "tv" if you're using the RF and want to lower or raise the volume. Which comes to my next point, I wish I could use volume up/down regardless if I'm in IR or RF but it doesn't have the ability to do that.Base on this I give it 5 stars bc the remote is true to the description.I'll give it 4 stars base on the things I wish it did which would make this remote perfect.I almost forgot, the keyboard works good but it's a little weird using the middle keys.5works perfectly!!!this mouse is fantastic!! it is super accurate and has an adjustable speed. I tested the microphone for speech input. it works on google assistant and works perfectly. What I love about the keyboard is the ALT characters are super easy to see . every other air mouse that is similar you can not see the ALT characters very well. they are printed in a dark blue. this remote the ALT characters are backlit as well as the main characters. EASY to read in the dark.5Great IR/RF remoteThis is an excellent multipurpose remote. I use this for my home theater setup, which includes an HTPC running Kodi. Works very well with Kodi out of the box. Only a couple of tweaks required for key mapping. Programming is easy (check YouTube as the documentation isn't great) for IR devices as well. Currently this controls my TV, receiver, and PC.The mic also works reasonably well and I was able to issue commands to Cortana using that feature. The air mouse feature on this device is a little less sensitive than on my prior remote, which is a good thing as this one is easier to control. Well worth the price for this remote.5Works as AdvertisedIt works as advertised. The mouse follows your movements perfectly. The buttons are in strange places. I like the center "ok" button as the left click mouse. However to right click is very difficult with one hand while trying to hold the remote still so as not to move the cursor on the screen. The button is up and to the right and hard to reach with the thumb. Same for the "cursor disable" button. The reason you want this is to stop the cursor from following your hand movements. This usually means the cursor is where you want it. Moving your thumb and to the right while holding your hand steady is impossible. It would also be nice if the keys were back lit. I have the same issue with the disabling of the cursor when you turn the remote over to use the key board. When you turn the remote over, the cursor flies all over the screen when means you are no longer in the place you wanted to type. I hoped to replace my full size wireless keyboard with this remote. That is not happening. I did replace my TV remote with this remote. I will continue to use it. I have not been able to use Cortana with the micro phone.4Absolutely perfect for the Shield TVLet's be honest, the remotes and controllers that come with the Shield TV (at least the older versions) just don't hold up. After going through THREE controllers that my kids kept dropping and breaking (those things are expensive!!), I was finally ready for something new. This little remote is a godsend and works amazingly well. It was simple plug-and-play, ready to go immediately after plugging in the USB receiver. All buttons work, voice control works, and the battery has lasted two months so far.The air gesture feature works well, too, but honestly we never use it. Navigating with the arrow keys is easier, especially for kids.My Shield TV is in an elevated cabinet, and I noticed reception issues with the USB receiver plugged into the back of the Shield, so I got a little 6-inch USB extension cable which moved the remote receiver out toward the front and now the remote works perfectly all over the living room.My only complaint is that the battery door is super tight and I thought I was going to break it getting it off. Hopefully I don't have to change the batteries very often. :-)If you have a Shield TV (or any device that needs a remote) definitely give this one a try!5Works great on Windows 7I couldn't find any reviews that specifically mentioned Windows 7/PC use, but I took the chance and I'm very glad I did. Took a minute for Windows to install the USB dongle, and I could instantly control the mouse cursor remotely through the air, including scrolling and click and drag. Very useful airmouse lock button allows you to turn off mouse control so you can move your hand or the remote without moving the cursor. Volume control, mute, page up/down buttons and the keyboard work flawlessly. Media control (play/pause rewind etc) works on Spotify and media players, but not Youtube unfortunately. I can now easily control my PC from anywhere in the room. Very glad I bought this guy and highly recommend for PC users.5Nice, but not worth the aggrevationRemote works great, so why the 3/5 review? The dongle only has a range of 9-10 feet. Our couch sits about 12 1/2 ft. from the TV/HTPC setup, so we are constantly losing signal on the remote, and eventually it times out so that we need to remove and reinsert the dongle to get it to pair again.I don't feel that 12+ ft. away is an unreasonable distance to cover, since we have no issues with the Harmony remote or our cable box remote. Yes, the backlit keys are nice for nighttime viewing, but it's not worth the hassle of the low coverage on the remote. We've gone back to using an old remote without the backlit keys, but has full coverage of the living room.PS: for those who are wondering, I've tried using the dongle from the other remote (since the 2 look pretty much identical), but the backlit one refuses to pair with it.3Great Remote for the Money (Dupad Story Q5); works well with the Nvidia ShieldI'm cutting a pasting this review from another site so there will be other remotes mentioned below which may not make sense. These remotes are available from Chinese sites (generally the newest tech comes from China before it is available in elsewhere).I tried this remote out with the Shield and here are my thoughts:1. Functionality - everything works; all buttons except for the menu button and page up/down buttons (which is typical) are functional with the Shield2. Range - I get good functionality with this remote sitting back about 10' on my couch from the Shield3. Voice Control - works great. Good sensitivity. The mic pics up as good as the Q5 and the RC01F using the voice recorder app I test with. It works in two ways: 1) when you press it, it will immediately call up Google Assistant; 2) if you click on the microphone icon in the Shield's OS, it instantly turns on (so basically it works like a combination of the AirFly and the Q5). It also turns on the LED light letting you know that the mic is on which is nice (which the AirFly does not have).4. Air mouse - has a on/off button and all buttons still work when you turn it on (unlike the AirFly). The responsiveness is not as good as the RC01F, but I think its a little better than the AirFly @ 10'5. Button placement - is okay. The remote is rather small and the buttons are close together. Also, the buttons have no height and are flat against the bezel so it's hard to feel them by touch. However, all the buttons work (except as mentioned the Menu and Page Up/Down). The buttons are "mushy" when you push them so there's no clicking or tactile/sound feed back.6. Using the buttons - as mentioned above, the Back/Home button is a dual button. Press it once and you go back; hold it down for a couple seconds and you go to the home menu; I'm still undecided if I like this. On the plus side I don't need to search for two buttons as one button does both actions (Back and Home); on the negative there a loss of instant satisfaction when pushing a button and the Shield responding (when trying to use the Home key). I guess if this was my everyday remote I would get use to it. The volume buttons are set up like a rocker switch. They work fine, but again since the buttons are flat against the bezel you would have to "search" to find the volume up vs down.7. Form its small and oval. The ergonomics with the oval are fine, but I prefer a larger size and the concave ergonomics of the AirFly. However, being that it is oval, I think the ergonomics are better than the Shield remote and for smaller hands, this size might be great.8. Price & Availability - is excellent. You can get this remote shipped (in the US) for $10 and have it in two days (if order from Amazon). This is the easiest remote to get at the moment.9 . IR Learning - only the Power button can be learned and I did not test that as I have no need to turn off anything as both my Shield and TV go into hibernation mode when pressing the power button on the remote. If someone really needs me to test the IR Learning functionality of the remote, I canTake home message - its a very strong remote for the price. Sensitive voice control which works as an automatic Google Assistant and will work as a voice mic as well (which I haven't seen before). Most of the buttons work with the Shield at a good distance. It's a little small for my liking and I don't like how the buttons are flat against the bezel which makes you need to do some "searching" in low light conditions. The air mouse is functional but not the best I've tested. Having a Del button works fine (which is nice) and has a combo Home/Back button (which I'm undecided on). The build construction is fine and you don't feel the batteries jiggling around or the back falling off (unlike the RC01F). Very good availability due to the countless numbers of rebrands (I think I've counted at least six) for this remote around the net and is instantly available for shipping for US customers.I'm still a stickler for a back light as most of my use is in low light conditions and would like IR Learning for the volume buttons so I'm going to stick with my AirFly/Linkstyle remote so this will be going back. I'm still waiting for the new version of the Q5 (called the Q5C) which is taking a very slow boat trip from China (2 month shipment) so I'll report back when I get that. But, if you want a decent replacement for the crappy Shield remote and want it at a low price quickly, this would be a good candidate.4Serves its purposeWorks well. The keyboard makes searching a breeze. You must get used to the pointer option. At first its tricky to steady the pointer enough to make a selection but once you are used to it, it comes in handy. My husband and I laugh hysterically at how loud the button clicks are. Especially late at night. There's a loud click when you press each button and then another on release of the button. Its really funny.5
