Customer Reviews

Great case for the price I watched one of the video reviews, and looked at a couple other similar cases before purchasing this one. It's a very nice little slim case for the 7" Fire tablet (I have a 1 gen Fire, from Xmas 2011).The Kindle snaps right in easily, very little added bulk to the device. I don't use the Fire standing up on a tabletop, so the stand capability of the case doesn't concern me, though it does work. The whole thing fits easily in a cargo pocket of my work pants, but with the case, my Kindle has a bit more protection.I took off one star due to the fact that the fold-back cover doesn't lay flat when folded back. Even with that, it would be very hard to beat this case for the price. 4A+ A best buy! Great quality!I bought two covers which looked the same but were from 2 different companies & prices. The A case Product was the much more reasonable price so I expected it to be a "cheaper" one I would only use as a back up. Boy was I wrong! My Acase Product is beautiful, actually made better than the more expensive brand and is nicer looking. The elastic strap is wider & feels more secure. The inner lining is beautiful soft suede-the more expensive model Is some kind of felt material that is already "wearing" off at the edges-AND I'VE ONLY USED IT ONCE BECAUSE I PREFER MY ACASE! That's not all. The packaging was better & my Acase came with both written instructions & pictures-the other did not. I highly recommend this product. In this day and age it is wonderful to actually get more than than I expected. For once, you'll actually get your moneys worth and more!5Cover flap DOES NOT wrap around to the back (cleanly)I bought this product because it was really cheap and appeared to be exactly what I wanted (something very similar to the amazon brand leather covers for their standard e-reader Kindles), but this product has one major flaw: the cover that protects the screen and opens up does NOT flip around to the back, it only goes most of the way. If you were to hold the Kindle Fire in your hands to work on it, the cover would have to flop around since it won't fold back. It folds mostly back, but I hear cracking noises when I try to force it, and I'm pretty sure I'll break it if I keep messing with it. It does hold the kindle up nicely as a stand, as you see in the product images. Minus two stars for not having this critical feature, I am sure many purchasers like myself probably assumed the cover would fold all the way back to lay flat along the backside, but it doesn't! I am not returning it for only $5, I'll keep it as a spare and maybe buy something different. Product did arrive early and in good packaging, though - thanks Amazon Prime.3Very nice and sturdyVery nice and sturdy. Even nicer in person than online. My old Kindle case had worn out after 3 years (pretty good run on that one!). In looking for a new case, this one popped up and looked good on the screen. When it arrived (VERY VERY FAST) I was very pleased with the quality and look of this new case. My previous case didn't have the option for turning sideways and standing up, this one has 3 different options for the tilt when sideways. I'd definitely recommend and will look for this brand if I need another in 3 more years! :-)5Great quality for the priceI really like this case! I got it in red. The color is deep (think brick red instead of crayon red). The binding, materials, and elastic band to hold it closed seem durable. It's done a great job protecting my Kindle so far.As for the various prop-up positions, they hold in place well without sliding. I can type and swipe on the tablet while it's propped up without it falling over.Don't be too concerned that it doesn't have a rotating stand so that you can prop it up vertically. It hasn't matter to me; I just leave the "cover" open and it makes a pretty sturdy triangle on any hard surface so I can read hands free.the cover does not fold back completely, so it won't lay flat on a table. It hasn't bothered me, either, but it's worth noting.4Great Case after 18 monthsI've been using this case (the hard shell case with stand) on my kindle fire since Feb 2012 and I love it. It's starting to show a little wear and a small tear at where the leather hinges, so I'm considering buying another to have as a backup. For the reasonable price I think it's a great cover. I use the fold over kick stand to prop it up as I read in bed every night. I know others have commented that the cover doesn't fold flat against the back when opened and this is true. I don't mind it. I guess it's a little bulky when opened but I think it just makes it easier to hold. I want to get a paperwhite and I'm disappointed I can't seem to find a cover that hinges and creates a stand like this one. I also like how the hard shell holds the kindle securely without adding too much bulk to the front of the kindle screen like some leather cases. You can create two different viewing angles with the cover triangle folded depending on which direction you lay the kindle. Its probably an unintended feature but I like to use the elastic strap ( that holds the cover closed when not reading) to put my hand through to hold the kindle when reading sitting up.5Acase for my Kindle FireGreat case for my Kindle Fire. Lightweight and easy to carry around. With the case on, I can still put my Kindle Fire inside my coat jacket or my pocket. The flap may not fold flat very well if you want to use it as a stand but for $13 I would buy it again. I have search high and low and found this case to be of favorite. I really like the strap that holds the flap intact when the fire is not inuse. Even though this case is lightweight, it has a solid protection. My fire sits very well inside this case. I really have no complaint except it is true like others have said, the flap does not fold very well or if is folded it does not flat very well but that's why you have the strap. I'm more concerned with making sure my fire is protected and this case will certainly do that. I would have given a 5 stars if the flap would not be an Inconvenience. Overall, this is an excellent case for protecting your fire. I would recommend to anyone who wants to pay a good price for an excellent case. :-)4Good value and protects Kindle Fire wellI cannot believe how much some companies are charging for Kindle Fire cases. This one met my needs just fine. I was not looking for a super pricey looking one or anything with extra bells and whistles. This case protects teh back of the device very well and the flap across the front keeps the screen in good shape as well. The flap does fold back to create a "stand" for the device and I have found that very helpful for watching shows and movies. I do not type on my Fire, so I'm not sure how it would work for that.Overall, this is one of the better cases if you just want simple protection. If you want fancy colors or extra "realistic" looking leather, you will likely have to pony up closer to $30 or $40.4AcceptableThis case is functional, has a hard back, and an elastic strap to secure the cover. All these are pluses. The minuses: as one reviewer stated, the cover doesn't bend all the way back. Slightly annoying, but it's fine since you can hold onto the case with the elastic strap while you are using it. Also, the stand function is adequate at best - mine falls a lot. I had to break it in, and it's still not all that.In sum, if you bought a kindle and you're not really picky about a good case and are still in your free month of Amazon Prime so you can get free shipping - maybe the case is okay.My suggestion? Go all out! Buy a nice case! There are so many case options - one with stylus holders, and covers that bend back, and stands that have several notches instead of one! I am buying my second case after using this one for 2 months. But if you are just like "whatever, I need a case," this one might do. I give it 3 1/2 stars, I'm feeling generous.3It does last and do what it is intended to do!!!!I love this case. When I got my original Kindle fire back in 2011 we got this case. I am just now replacing it and I could not ask for a better case. It survived a teething baby. She bit, kicked, dropped spilled sippies on and my kindle is still functioning!! It looks great I waited til it was back on market to purchase same case cause I knew it would last another 7 years5For a cheap case, it's not terrible.I wanted a microshell-type case for my Kindle Fire and this case is very thin and not bulky. The back of the cover is nice. The KF snaps into the case and it provides a nice, hard cover for lightweight, thin protection. But the front of the case (the screen cover) is lousy. It is cheap, faux leather that is stiff and unmanageable. The elastic strap that keeps the cover closed is nice and tight. Really, it's almost too tight! My biggest complaint is that the cover does not fold back. So you've always got the cover flapping away whenever you're using the Kindle. The Kindle Fire Lightweight MicroShell Folio Case Cover by Marware, Black is a much better option, although six times the price of this one. We have several KF in our household and we all use the Marware microshell cover. It is thin, light-weight, AND the cover folds back flat against the device when in use.2
