Customer Reviews

Constant flickering renders this swich unusableThis device is unusable. I have three computers connected to it and only my oldest one has a stable display. The others, along with my laptop that I sometimes connect as the 4th device, just constantly flicker. The screen configuration just continually resets. It flickers on, it flickers off. Unusable. And worse, I've thrown out the box so I can't even return it. It's just junk.1Didn't work with 1 mouse/keyboard combo using windows 7 and 10Didn't work with Windows using 1 mouse/keyboard without unplugging it and putting the USB directly into the pc. Also, it leaves the big VGA cable sitting on your desk because 2 VGA's are in back and the one that plugs the switch to the monitor is in front of the unit and that makes it so all the cables have to be on your desk for you to look at. The monitor switched between the 2 pc's but not the keyboard and mouse. One pc running windows 10 the other windows 7. Windows 7 didn't recognize the external hard drive either but windows 10 did. I added an additional USB hub and it worked on windows 10. I would look for a unit that has all monitor inputs in the back of the unit so you don't have to look at all the cables on your desk. If you don't want them on your desk, you won't be able to switch PC's unless you get up and walk behind the desk and switch them.2It is nice that my speakers switch alsoI finally setup my system. I connected 3 machines. 2 were Win 7 and one is Win 10.The unit switches quickly and reliably. It is nice that my speakers switch also.I saved much setup time on the Win 10 machine by using a thumb drive in the hub port.Just copy needed files from one of the Win 7 machines and then switch to the Win 10 unit and copy the files to it.Thanks.5Basic HDMI KVM Switch Performs WellPlease note: Amazon mixes reviews of the 3 different JideTech switches in this category, which can confuse some readers. This review is for the HDMI KVM version which routes keyboard, mouse and audio signals from 2 devices to a single monitor or TV display via its HDMI connection.I use a couple of VGA KVM switches regularly with various desktop systems, and have recently acquired a couple of used laptops that I'd occasionally like to connect to a larger display. The JideTech switch makes this easy to accomplish, and the result is very satisfactory!I won't write a comprehensive review, as there are quite a few already that address the basics. I'll just leave some comments that may be helpful to others trying to get setup for the first time.* I'm using the switch with two different older model Toshiba laptops that have been upgraded to Windows 10. There can be inconsistencies in enabling the HDMI outputs to send signals to the external HDMI port, and until you figure out what your computer requires, it may appear that your switch is not working. In some cases, you may have to go into the 'Display' settings in Windows to access HDMI properties, or Device Manager to see if there is an HDMI device that needs to be enabled. You may find that simply connecting the cables to the switch and the monitor BEFORE starting the computer will result in your system automatically turning on its HDMI output during startup. This is probably the best-case scenario, because you don't have to hunt around for obscure settings!* If anyone is wondering if this switch passes audio, because there are no audio cables, the answer is 'Yes'. The HDMI connectors carry both video and audio signals.* There are two USB ports on the switch -- one for connecting a keyboard, and one for a mouse, for users who have separate wired devices. I use a Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse combination with a USB receiver, and find that both function correctly with the receiver plugged into either the keyboard or mouse USB connector on the switch. No worries!* I would agree with a previous reviewer who stated that the included documentation could be improved. It appears to be an English translation from Chinese, and there is some awkward phraseology. When dealing with technical language that may be unfamiliar to someone attempting to integrate this into his or her system, it's doubly challenging when the technical terms are explained in somewhat jumbled fashion. I think the vendor would do well to ask someone for whom English is their primary language to sit down with the instruction sheet and a switch and follow the directions to make the hook-up, as proof of clear, concise and correct documentation. In summary, I'm very pleased with the ease-of-use, the switching time and the audio/video performance of this switch. Hopefully, it will also be durable. If necessary, I'll amend my review in the event of any changes or premature failure. So far, so good! It's a keeper.52 Port USB 2.0 VGA KVM SwitchExcellent product! I was worried at first when I saw you had to shutdown both PC's to install it since I wanted it to have control of two servers but then I saw the FAQ where it says you can do it on the fly so I just did that and it worked like a charm on both servers!! I really recommend it.5This is such an amazing and fantastic productThis is such an amazing and fantastic product. On the first day, it brought the mail to my door and proceeded to vacuum the floor. In the shower, it gave me a foot massage. When it came time to clean it in the washer, it did all the other laundry, folded it, and then cooked me dinner too! :) Seriously, after using this a couple times I can definitely see purchasing this product again.5Blurry screenI have a 23" ViewSonic monitor that works very well on both my desktop and laptops. I hooked up the switch per the instructions. The screen immediately became blurry compared with no switch. The blurry is not very serious, but bad enough to make me feel dizzy after watching the screen for a few minutes. Checked all connections, tight. Tried all four inputs, same results. Unfortunately I have to return it.Update on 11/11/2017: Seller said that a potential cause to the blurry screen could be a large monitor. Their engineers recommended a monitor size 19" or smaller due to switch's bandwidth. I noticed that seller has added this recommendation. The keyboard and mouse did work very well when I switched from one computer to another. Just need to plug the USB on the cable to your computer's USB port.3The best KVM I've owned and a fraction of the price!I love this little KVM. I can't afford a DVI switch at this time, so I picked up this little guy and it works perfectly. It is powered through the USB, so it is off when the PCs are off and goes into select mode when any or all have been turned on, so it doesn't default. Windows hasn't had a problem mis-detecting monitors even when I have booted up in select mode. That's great. My only complaints aren't really problems, but rather things I wish it had.- Slightly longer cables. Just 6" more would be great.- Have all the inputs on one side and outputs on another. I realize they did this for space and because they could, but with the inputs being on both sides, it is a pain to stretch those apposing cables and it doesn't look as nice as it could.Other than that I LOVE this compared to every other KVM I have owned.5Easy to set up and works perfectly for what I needI was given a laptop at work in order to telework from home on a regular basis. I have an ultra-wide monitor for my home desktop computer and need to use it to do my work on the laptop since the laptop screen is too small. Also, using the keyboard and touchpad of the laptop was out of the question. At first, I bought a different brand of KVM switch that cost twice as much but it could not handle the resolution of the ultra-wide monitor. Then I bought the JideTech HDMI KVM Switch. It was easy to set up and works perfectly for what I need. The only difference (other than the resolution) is the more expensive brand handled audio whereas the JideTech model I have does not. This did not turn out to be a problem for me since I have two sets of computer speakers and simply plugged a set into each computer. I've been using the JideTech KVM switch for about three weeks now with no problems.5There are some easy to follow instructions included if you need themWe consolidated some furniture and moved two laptops onto one desk and wondered about the possibility of using one big screen monitor, one keyboard, and one mouse with both laptops. The KVM switch came to the rescue. With a push of a button now we can basically operate two laptops from one ergonomic desk station. This KVM actually allows for 4 laptops and is exapandable in the future. We didn't have to read any instructions or install any software. You just hook stuff up and it works. There are some easy to follow instructions included if you need them. The price is VERY reasonable. We are glad we found this.5
