Customer Reviews

Shower feels SOOOOO good... and it should save us on water usage!Purchased two (2) of these to replace our current shower heads that were spec'd for higher GPM. Out of the box, they feel well constructed and a great value for the cost. A little teflon tape for good measure and they go on nice and easy. The swivel joint allows for a decent range of motion, and isn't too loose or tight.I only had to use it once to realize just how great a purchase it is. The spray is very pleasant, not too slow to feel like a trickle, but not to high to feel like needles. Truly, just right. I think I could nearly fall asleep under the flow because of how pleasant it feels.Got these shower heads along with the Niagara 0.5 GPM Low Flow Dual-Thread Faucet Aerator (Kitchen/Bath - 6PK) to replace our bathroom faucet aerators in an effort to be more water-usage friendly as well as cut down on our water bill. We also implemented the simple lifehack of filling a quart-size plastic container/carton with water and placing it in our toilet reservoir. So, I am very interested to see how all of this impacts our water bill. The aerators were around $9 for the 6pk, the shower heads were about $10 each, and the toilet reservoir water displacement cartons/containers were free (yay!). So, for around $30 bucks (depending on how many bathrooms, showers, faucets you have) we were able to put a nice dent in our daily water usage due to decreased flow-rates.Hope to update this post with how much it saves us on our monthly water usage! 5Great value I had a similar style head from Delta and it was 2GPM and probably really expensive. This is nearly the same result, just 25% less water (and very affordable of course). The temperature feels the same. I had it set before so that pretty much all the way up is the perfect hot temp, and it still seems that is true. I do notice a bit less water but it's pretty minor and I know I'll get used to it. Very good and worth the energy savings. 5BEST 1.5 GPM SHOWER HEAD YOU CAN BUY!Decided to shop around for a low flow shower head to conserve water. Orig. head was only 2gpm, but wanted even less. First tried the Niagara Tri Max head... hated it more than anything.(see below) Next was this Niagara Sava... and ... LOVE IT! Exactly what I wanted. More of a rain shower head instead of the high pressure small jets shooting out from the Tri-Max.The Tri-Max would start at the shower head at about 1/2 in wide pattern and when it hit the shower floor, about 2.5 feet wide. A huge cone pattern. It would literally spray outside the tub walls on to the floor if the curtain was not shut. This Sava starts at about 4 inches wide and is about 1.5 feet wide where it hits the tub floor. A MUCH BETTER SPRAY PATTERN... especially when used by small children who are closer to the end spray pattern than the shower head itself. LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT! 5Here are the features I like. 1I was willing to spend $50 on a shower head that performs as well as this. The problem is I could not find one! I looked at several hardware stores, and online trying to find a shower head comparable to this. Here are the features I like.1. It is wide at 4 inches. It's no monster like some of them out there, but that also means it will not strain my pipes from weight either. I think it is the perfect size.2. The holes are spaced well for even coverage. I like a good shower since I get dirty and work hard. For me, this thing provides a pillow of water on my back making me want to stay in the shower forever.3. It saves water. We have the 1.5gpm model and it provides enough water pressure to satisfy my wife. I even installed a shutoff valve just behind the head to save even more water when I take a shower. I can dial it down to .5gpm during my entire shower. Our old head would not even spray water to the halfway point of the tub, but this one goes 3/4 of the way. I am proud to say that my wife does not have to turn it up to full blast anymore, meaning she uses less than 1.5gpm.4. It swivels easily. I get in the shower and point the head all the way up, then turn the flow down to .5gpm. My wife gets in the shower and turns the head down, and the flow up. After a month of this, it still works like the first day.I will try to comment on the longevity of the product in a year or two if I can remember. I can tell you that the mount feels like metal, and the rest of the head is plastic.I recommend this head to anyone wanting to buy a new shower head that makes you feel good not only from being clean, but saving water and money.BTW, the shutoff valve is from ACE and cost $10. 5Good price, acceptable quality.Materials wise...this showerhead is cheaply made. The plastic is light and I've no doubt that overtightening would break the fitting (so be careful when you install it). That said...it does what it is designed to do and does it just fine. Takes just a few minutes to install, doesn't leak, and water flow is limited but that's kind of the idea (1.5gpm). I already see a reduction in our family's water usage, which is what I wanted. The price offsets the lower quality materials and I think it will hold up just fine to our daily use. If you just want an inexpensive, low-flow showerhead that gets the job done, this is a good one to consider. 4Reduced PressureWe purchased this shower head to replace an eight inch rain shower type head. We wanted to conserve water yet still have the larger area of spray. The coverage is obviously less, but still better than other reduction heads. Our disappointment is the lack of pressure. We have good water pressure at our house and assumed a smaller head would likely increase water pressure in the shower. Instead, there is a reduction in pressure that requires more time to rinse. Unfortunately the pressure is low enough we will be seeking a replacement for this shower head. 3Best low-flow shower head money can buyThis is an amazing showerhead. It uses nearly half the water that other shower heads use with hardly any noticeable difference. I got one of these for our primary bathroom and after using it for about a year went ahead and replaced all other bathroom showerheads with one as well. During roughly the first year I had this showerhead, I have had easily over 100 people stay in my home and shower with it. I airbnb a room in our home, so we have had a huge number of short term guests, and we have also had a few longer term roommates during this time. Overall, two airbnb guests (out of ~100) mentioned that they felt the water pressure wasn't as strong as they wanted, otherwise no comments or complaints -- we are superhosts on airbnb with a 5 star average rating. Meanwhile, this little showerhead has easily paid itself off and saved us a ton of money on top of that, plus its helping to save wasted water. For $10, this is ridiculous deal. It's is clearly the best low-flow showerhead you can get, and I would have paid triple the price without a second thought. 5Save 2190 gallons per person, per year!By all means, I'm no plumber, yet I found it easy to install. It also shoots out water beautifully and it seems to cover my body better than other shower heads that I've tried.People comment on it when I show it to them, and they all seem to think that I paid a ton of money for it. I tell them about how it only uses 1.5 gallons per minute, compared to the national average of 2.2 gallons per minute. With the average shower lasting 8 minutes, that's 18 gallons of water. Using only 1.5 gallons per minute, you end up using only 12 gallons per shower.Water per year used with this shower head (1 shower per day) = 12 gallons * 365 = 4380 gallons used per yearWater per year used with average shower head (1 shower per day) = 18 gallons * 365 = 6570 gallons used per yearSo basically, you save 2190 gallons per person, per year.Do your part and save water. Don't forget to remember the other benefits too. 5Needs ImprovementThis shower head, which functional, is not the greatest option. We are required to have a water-saving shower head for our home and have been wanting to swap out our old one for something shiny and new. While this definitely fits the "shiny and new" description, the positives stop there. Yes, it is completely functional - water comes out of the shower head. Unfortunately, the water pressure was severely lacking, and after one use I couldn't stand it. Our old, plastic shower head had significantly better water pressure even though both are water-saving certified (1.5 gpm). I was disappointed with this shower head, given the previous reviews and the nicer looks of it. Looks just don't top functionality in this case. 3Works Well though it has about a 3 yr life span**2nd one didn t even last a year with losing pressure, leaking. Not even worth the $11!!This is the 2nd one of these shower heads I am purchasing, with this being to replace the first one. I like this shower head VERY much when it works, but this only lasted right at 3 years for me before it started coming apart, losing pressure, and wouldn't stay in place. I did follow the cleaning instructions for this item as well. Fortunately, for the price point it isn't terrible for replacing it for only lasting 3 years, which I would take it to about 3.5 star rating. The general function of 1.5 is WAY better than a few other high end shower heads I tried that were supposed to be 1.5 but my hot water didn't last as long with the higher-end models as it does with this shower head (which is why I am buying another), and I actually do get a nice amount of water pressure with this even though this is more of a rain-style. If you want super jet style water, this is not the right model for you. To me, for the price, this is a great model for water conservation and providing a nice shower. 1
