    Description

    • Serial ATA (SATA) replaces parallel ATA (PATA, a.K.A. Ide) as the new standard for high speed, reliable data transfer between your computers motherboard and storage drives. Sata provides faster data transfers, less clutter due to a more compact cable, leading to better in-case air circulation and ability to hot swap connections. First generation SATA is generally referred to simply as SATA, but is also known as SATA 150 or SATA 1, has a throughput of 1.5 GB it/s. It is an internal interface that uses "L" Type connectors. They are referred to as "L" Connectors because if you look at the female connector head on, it has a sideways "L" Shaped slot. The male connector has an "L" Shaped tongue. Second generation SATA is known as SATA 3 Gaps but commonly referred to as SATA 2 and sometimes SATA 300. It supports a 3.0 Gaps transfer rate and also uses the "L" Type connector. Sata 2 cables are backward compatible with first generation SATA devices. However, maximum throughput will be limited to the least common denominator. To go with the newer SATA interface, SATA drives usually employ a new 15 pin power connector as oppose TO the older 4 pin Molex power connectors used on older system. However, some drives will have both types of connections for ease of installation into legacy systems.

    Great Value, No Locking TabThese cables are a great value. I bought them needing only one cable, but the two-pack was a better deal when I factored in the free Amazon Prime shipping.The length of the cables was great. I was had plenty of length to spare, but it wasn't so long as to clog up the air-flow of my case.The only consideration I would put out there about this cable is the lack of a locking tab. I had to mount my drive in a hard to reach mounting area and once I had reattached the bracket it was hard to verify the cord was still attached. I would have preferred a little "snap" to let me know if was locked on. I suppose that once it is in place there is very little that will cause it to come disconnected (since the computer just sits there), but if you have an application where a locking tab is required, this is not the cable set for you.Overall, I would purchase this again.-Cheers!4Cheapest Price, They work Great thoughFor under $1.00 and it comes with 2 cables, you really cannot beat that anywhere. The cables work and are plenty long enough for an internal hard drive.I bought these because i figured even if they broke i would have 2 tries for a working cable, and at around 40 cents a piece i would not be upset. Both cables work though, that's all i needed from them. No clips to lock them in place which i prefer.I would definitely recommend buying these as opposed to other more expensive cables, the only exception being if you plan to have your hard drive located externally (in that case they might be too short or need some type of shielding). I bought them to be able to plug in some hard drives I got into two different machines, and I like them because the red color helps make them stand out. Yes, the (black) connectors do not have a "locking" clip on them, but they seemed to hold OK and then were removable without much effort. Recently, I noticed that cables would no longer stay firm in the SATA ports on my Nvidia 780i motherboard. If you weren't aware, alot of SATA cables can only take 50-100 inserts before they wear out. The effect was that if I bumped my desk or the tower, it would slide the sata cable out and my computer would freeze. Also started getting jittery things happening with the system.So I go online and find this 2 pk for an insane low price, and glowing reviews AND free shipping. No brainer here folks.Cables connected snugly and examination of the connect shows they are still in-place a few days later.Thanks!5Works, but questionable qualityTo be honest, I should have bought the cables with the right angle connectors, especially since there isn't much space between the door of the computer case (Corsair 500R) and the actual cables. Also, one of the cables had the plastic black end snap off. I taped it back together with electrical tape, but I wouldn't advise this since the hard drive or SSD is worth much more than a stupid cable.Nevertheless, it works, but I would suggest spending a little bit more and buying the right angle SATA cables or at least another cable with better quality to it.3Good Company; Good deal; Excellent ItemI purchased this item originally because it offered good value for the price. When I received the item, they had sent me only one of the item rather than two and not the item in the display photo (but a better one - right-angled). I contacted the company regarding the fact that I had received only one of the item and a different one at that. They explained that there had been an error in the advert. They asked me to accept what was shipped and they made a price adjustment as an amelioration as well. I was thoroughly impressed by this company's ethics and attitude, not to mention the quality of the item! Do business with these people! I had already purchased something locally, so had no need for it by the time it got here.the connectors look very cheap. when I need another cable in the future, I'll buy another one as these look like junk.note - I have not tested the cables - they might work fine.the good thing is that it was so inexpensive that it doesn't really matter to throw them away.2
